Normally around £100, other cheaper ones can be found for the same price but not as nice. Spend more by all means but i bet the internals are the same as the more expensive models.

Gran Gaggia offers the passion of traditional preparation in a compact stainless steel design for a perfect Italian Espresso. The Crema Perfetta pressurised filter holder guarantees a long lasting delicious Crema - everytime.

With 950W of power and 15 bar pressure, this coffee machine will make sure you always get an authentic Espresso taste.

The classic milk frother - traditionally called "Panarello" - turns milk into gorgeous milk froth within seconds for the perfect Capuccino or Latte Macchiato. It also delivers hot water in moments for tea.

I have the Baby Gaggia which is great. This Gran Gaggia look pretty good for the money. Otherwise, the Lady Gaggia I've heard gives the best head.

Looks like Argos have a similar one for £179.99!

Might as well use nescafe than this. The result of Phillips taking over Gaggia. You'll probably get a good espresso from it by accident.

I have the baby gaggia too and as eatmorefish said it is fantastic not sure how this compares to the baby gaggia but looks similar .

That one is £150 at John Lewis.

Looks like a good machine, was thinking about a compact Gaggia or a Nespresso the next time the £40 free capsules pops up. Think this may give a bit more flexibility.

Is that right? Philips have taken over gaggia and these machines are no longer good?

What machine could you recommend instead please?

Didn't Philips own the famous coffee brand in Italy and their stuff was top? Name escapes me

That's a Philips Gaggia Gran Gaggia Espresso Coffee Machine. For the same money, you can get a Classic from Amazon.

Surely they cannot be cheaper if they are the same price?

No, the Gaggia Classic and Gaggia Baby have a heavy, commercial-sized filter holder and a solenoid valve, making them closer to the big commercial espresso machines than this one is. I'm sure there are other differences as well.

As for the comment about Philips - I had a fairly new Gaggia Baby which performs superbly, so I don't believe it personally.
