I've seen a few others slightly cheaper, but as of today I think it's the cheapest 2060S around.

Yep, and the cheapest one I could find. Maybe it's worth waiting a couple of weeks like others suggested.

This is poor value when an equivalent RX 5700 is about £310 but then that's the nvidia pricing. Hopefully bigger navi forces them to wake up a little like AMD have with Intel

I would say 60 quid more for a better card with more features is worth it...

I've succumbed to the super branding personally I think its worth it, I'm not big into gaming but I do like to enjoy things in the fully glory, control is actually quite good and personally I think the Ray tracing helps improve the immersion...

However spending over 200 quid on any graphics card to me is a little crazy considering you a can buy a complete gaming console with a game and a controller for less.

I mean obviously I have but I did question my sanity, basically I'm paying over the odds for prettyness, and at the end of the day consoles do the same thing, pc gaming is poor value, like sports cars, completely pointless but we enjoy it, so make the most of these crazy buys and get an rtx card and enjoy it that little bit more
Raytracing on current RTX range isn't really good enough besides most games having lacklustre implementation at best, and anything sub 2080 struggles anyway. The other "features" are subjective much like what AMD offer but on a base level, they perform the same yet one costs around 15% more, which is simply poor value however you look at it. Ultimately RTX simply felt like an excuse to push prices up 1 or 2 tiers.

I don't think comparing PC hardware to sports cars is an sound comparison. Cars tend to have different driving dynamics and character. Graphics cards on the other hand more or less push pixels. Whichever renders more (and smoothly) is what you typically tend to buy with gimmicky superfluous features adding no real value beyond the initial period where its new and cool.

Although for £310 you are surely getting a blower style which may be a bit noisy and hot. I’d personally go for an RX5700 over this but not a blower version.

Although if you already own a decent card you can sell that for what would seem to be a high price. I’ll be selling my 1070 soon (for hopefully around £200) and buying a 5700xt for around £170 more.
Still crazy money when top end cards used to be under £100.
I hope AMD pummel Nvidia as they have down with Intel. This is the only way prices will come down.
Unfortunately AMD have gone ahead of Nvidia like they have for intel......yet.
Rumours are that Intel are having to slash the prices of their next gen to compete..

The 5700 does fare better than the XT with the blower. The annoying thing is that while in the US custom cardsa like the pulse and red dragon are close ot MSRP of the blower card, over here for us we're getting ripped off. Shame but hopefully prices normalize soon. Something like a 5700 Pulse for ~320 with a XT bios would be great value.

Can you explain why? The new Navi is budget range only, no signs of the upper high end.

Look into the navi 12 and 14, covers budget and high end. If high end prices drop, so will mid range.

I've not heard any official news of high end yet. Most rumours are H1 2020?

Yeah that's a rumour.
Also, going by your assertion there's no need for this website to exist because everyone can just search for the hottest deals by themselves.

I couldn't believe i got £200 for my 1070, my logic was that after brexit import tax on GPU's will be a 1000% so the 2000 series will make me money if I decide to sell it on!

In reality, i'm just looking at the 0% paypal balance offer cursing its existence!

Looking back getting a Voodoo 2 with 4 games for under £90 was amazing! If only 800x600 was still high res i'd be happy gaming on the IGP
