Bought one plus 5t from them couple months ago .. arrived within 2 weeks .. all good and it was brand new as it should
Nothing wrong with Toby deals, despite the aversion some people have to them on Hotukdeals.

Hopefully you wont have to claim on the warranty on this perfect phone further down the line.
I was looking at buying the iPhone 8 plus from Toby Deals. Its only £621, would Apple honour the warranty of this if it broke?

No as Toby deals are NOT an authorised Apple outlet - Despite all the urban myths you see on here . Presumably from buyers labouring under that illusion that they have that non existent warranty .

To be fair ask Tobydeals ,EGlobal , Gearbest etc and they are quite open with the fact there is no manufacturers warranty - that's if you can get a reply from their pathetic to non existent customer service
Chilax, there's nothing wrong with buying from Toby deals or Eglobal etc. Have bought 2 Note 8 dual Sims (taking away on one now). Most people have some form of insurance anyway should something go wrong.
I bought a samsung s2 tab for my dad from here. The 4g didnt work because it was region locked to asia. They charged him for returning it then sent it back to him saying nothing was wrong with it so he wasnt entitled to a refund. Samsung eu said they couldnt remove the block either so we were stuck with a wifi model effectively. It was all quite miserable as it was a present, in the end i bought it off him and he ordered one from samsung direct.

No but you will still get 12 month warranty from Toby. Purchase using a credit card for maximum protection though should you encounter any difficulties dealing with Toby.

Doesn't that mean the phones will have the same problem then?
Had to return my S9 last week for replacement to mobiles.co.uk. It had the common issue of dropping sound on both ends of the call for several seconds. Luckily the replacement seems ok so I'm glad of the UK warranty.

FYI, to my knowledge (and research), no insurer will cover you for a purchase made outside of the UK

Samsung screens break so easily. Samsung screens seem designed to crack.
I find low cost Chinese phones do not and are more resilient to screen damage.

Not sure why you have used a turd emoji as just because to your knowledge nobody insures ...

I have insurance through Barclays tech pack and not only have I registered my phone with them, they are aware it was bought outside UK and are ok with this. They have already replaced an S7 Edge which was also bought from Toby with just a £35 excess ...

I don't know what some people do with their phones to break them. My S7 Edge has lived on my mountain bike handlebars in all weathers for many thousands of miles with no hassles.

They drop them.
Drop a Chinese budget phone and the screen is fine.
Drop a Samsung and it breaks.
Try it!

Samsung will also refuse to honour a warranty if there is any damage.
S6 is sealed. The back came off and cracked. Samsung refused to repair "physical damage."
But the back cannot come off on a sealed unit.

They settled with me when I filed a claim against them in the small claims court.
Always file a claim with MoneyOnline.
It appears Samsung willl happily pay £1000 in legal costs to a solicitor and settle rather than honour a warranty.

I've dropped mine, it's rattled with keys and been in my back pocket. I think that there is an awful lot of luck/bad luck that is attributed to a manufacturer.
Does section 75 cover you if you buy these on a credit card and they later develop issues?

Thanks for the info although from what I can see, that account costs £13 a month and as I don't really 'need' any of those features other than phone insurance, it kinda outweighs the cost advantage of this phone over two years

Can I ask how much you're paying per month for that pleasure? I don't have any reason to pay for a bank account at the moment so I'd just be paying for the fact of insurance - at which point the cost advantage for this phone is probably gone

In year 1 it can be free if your friend refers you to Nationwide and you switch. The incentive covers the monthly charge (with a profit). Year 2 cancel and recommend your spouse. Year 3, they cancel and you repeat!

I don't mind paying the monthly fee for my account.
i get Break down cover, travel insurance, mobile insurance and other extras included in this. basically £150 a year and I'm covered incase anything goes wrong. cant go wrong with it tbh.

Mine was a heat crack from when it had an issue with the charging port. my fastcharge stopped working randomly even Samsung didn't know why it stopped or what really happened to it. but then i hada heat crack right through the middle of my screen, i mean the width of it but it didn't affect any use of the phone at all.

Ooof. That's bad luck? I've not seen that before!

Probably a good reason to go for something with a local warranty!

It wasn't an issue, Samsung just replaced the charging port and that was that.
i didn't get the screen replaced until about 5 months later which only cost me £25 through nationwide phone insurance so i wasn't too fussed about that.
got it back within 2 days.

Not at all, this is not paying for the account, it's a specific tech pack insurance package that covers all 4 mobiles in my household, tablets and laptops. I also take out a combined travel insurance package so get a £2 per month discount. The tech pack insurance therefore costs me £10 a month.
