ok so I know similar deals have been posted, and your not supposed to include cashback in the price, but I had to post this as there's no reason this won't be honored.

Samsung galaxy tab 2 7" 8gb WiFi = £169.99
+ logik 7" tablet case = £7.99
minus price match at cpw of £25.29
total = £152.69
Minus £50 cashback from currys = £102.56!!!

I just thought this justified a new post as I thought this was bargain , I know it's been mentioned in discussions of other posts, but unless u read through 157 comments u won't see it!

Obviously cant comment on cashback yet as have not submitted, but there's no reason it wont be honored. :-D

Got mine from currys in Merthyr.

Don't think u can price match and claim cashback

I cant see a reason as to why not, I asked the guy in currys and he said as long as a case shows up on your receipt you are eligible for the £20 cashback from currys. plus the £30 from Samsung.

amazon 10.1 3g is 238 again! quick!!!

is the 7" not £30 cashback?!

Spooooooooooooon

I was told that an email has been sent to all currys staff telling them not to price match the galaxy tabs or note because their deal on the tablets is different to other companies so does not qualify as it has to be like for like.

maybe I was just lucky? I can.understand if they didn't include the extra £20 cashback offer, but even without that it still makes it cheaper than anywhere else as they give u 10% off the difference between their price and cpw, so after the £30 Samsung cashback it makes it cheaper. just not £102 cheap! still think its worth a punt!

I bought two of them yesterday with no problem. I picked up 2 cases, in fact they were laptop cases for £2.48 & I needed one, the others going on ebay. Thanks to the OP and others for bringing this to light.

on their own website it says they will only price match from.....johnlewis.co.uk, argos.co.uk, staples.co.uk, tesco.com.
staples dont have any, Johnlewis is £148 but non in stock so doesnt qualify for the price match. Argos and tesco are both £158 so they would price match those at £142.20 and then they do the £20 if you buy a case and samsung do £30 so it works out at £92.20 plus whichever case you choose. I am hopefully buying one of these in a week so i will be grabbing this bargain. Thanks OP x

They are the online companies which they price match if you call them, instore they proce match pretty much any retail store, but as I said it has to be like for like, and I have been to 2 different stores now and been told the same thing from both, they have been told from head office not to price match as the deal is not like for like.

Voted cold. An already posted deal with an already suggested course of action ie pricematching. Pricematching of course is not guaranteed and many have stated that PCW/Currys won't price match as well as provide their cash back. That's my opinion obviously everyone has their own.

How is the deal not like for like? Just because they offer the £20 cashback?

even if you just bought the tab 2 for their £169.99 and got that price matched it would be £142.20 so cheaper than CPW anyway and then you still get the £30 cashback from samsung?

I agree. There have been numerous posts all with the required information on price match problems.

I had pricematched the 7" tab on 8th Nov after lot of heated discussions and bought the logik case for £151.98 after which I saw the Tesco 10.1" deal and hence returned it in a different store. Looking at the receipt with Pricematch the manager was more than happy to process the refund :-) I was also worried about the cashback so for peace of mind went for the Tesco deal though it was not that peaceful to get the £20 gift voucher.

this has a gyroscope right? i think at this price its better than the nexus 7 - also if your thinking of this vs the nexus 7 the 45-50% extra in price for the nexus 7 isnt worth it for the minimal boosts just my opinion

can you use currys vouchers on top of this. Because I can get 10% off if i swap cash for vouchers on a site.

was that the price you paid and did it also qualify for the Samsung £50 cashback as well?

Awesome deal if that's the case.

So you can add any case to the deal I've seen a camera case online for £4.97 would that be accepted?

When I got mine last week I was told the same thing. Will give them back the case if they dont offer the £20 cashback from Currys as I was told false information even though you only have 21 days for refund.

That was the price AFTER the Samsung cashback (£289.99 before cashback). I bought one but am going to return it and get a Note 10.1 instead.

The £20 cashback doesn't show on the till anyway, that has to be claimed online after with the £30 from samsung.

May be they won't price match it at all.

I'm going to try tomorrow and see if I can convince them,

I asked in three different curry including Merthyr. they said you take the chance on the cash back.
because they were told it wouldn't work only one deal will work at a time.
they wouldn't price match and get cash back deal.....
so got it from carphonewarehouse for £118 instead....

how can I get price match cash back? I can't find it on curry's website..it just shows 189.98 (with case) plus £50 cash back

To be fair it didn't deserve to be that peaceful did it!. You had already negotiated a cracking deal on this 7" model but then returned it for a full refund, when there was nothing wrong with it, so you could buy the tab 10" from somewhere else...and you still wanted the £20 gift voucher that they briefly offered on their website? lol

If it was any easier it'd likely be criminal X)

It depends on the retailer. To be honest, with the £80 Currys cashback it was not much different from Tesco's offer with the £20 gift card. However I did not have stamina to try and do a price match again with Currys for the 10.1". Yes I did buy the 7" as that was a good offer but for £50 more if you can get the 10.1" then anybody will go for it unless you need one which is portable to carry in the jacket and hence had to return the 7" one with all seals intact.

just bought, My tab 2 + Logik case scanned through at £148.69 (£29.97 price match) meaning i'm looking at £98.69! for tab and case after cashback....was going to get a nexus but this is too good an offer

Hope I'm wrong, but people shouldn't be so quick to trust Currys to honour both a price-match and a cashback offer after the stories from some of the other threads on the Tabs.

How did you get that figure?

Carphone warehouse = £147
Currys = £169
Price Match = £24.20

Cost = £144.80 + cost of case.

So you managed to find a case for £3.89?

what is the code number for the case? need it as time is running out, john lewis has stopped selling these on web

Currys have reduced the price of this now to £158, exactly the same price as Tesco Direct... so... that's that gone. Still, if you can find a cheap case you could still end up with £50 cashback minus the cost of the case.

**EDIT**, When it says any case, does it mean any case? Even if it's not for a tablet? Say, for a Garmin sat nav? Or camera, etc?

Currys/PCW web says this:

currys.co.uk/gbu…112

"with any case"

Terms and Conditions for Currys/PCW offer here:

currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

I am afraid that doesn't answer the question as it just says "qualifying case" but then doesn't explain what that actually means!
