Pretty good spec tablet released recently, Galaxy Tab A 10.1.

1.6ghz quad core which is faster than the previous tab a 9.7, plus an incredibly clearer screen with 224ppi not that far off from the the much more expensive Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 screen. 224ppi is incredibly high if you compare it to the iPad Air 2 and other Galaxy tabs. 2GB RAM.

I managed to get it for £199 by applying the £20 off code. 8MP camera and 1080p recording. Great spec tablet by Samsung if you want to save money from getting an alternative to an iPad.

Its good to see Samsung make a significant upgrade of last years Tab A 9.7.

I'm still not sure this 2016 is worth £220 or £199 though considering its still a budget tablet. I picked up a Tab S2 8" last week for £215 (2nd hand from CeX but mint,) which is the premium tablet and think its a better deal. If you need a big tablet, your choices are pretty limited. Not Hot or Cold for me.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8010 in 2012. A couple of weeks after I bought it it received an Android software update to KitKat. Since then no further updates. It's been a good piece of kit for what I need, but because of there's being just one upgrade to Android it's put me off buying another Samsung product. This was their flagship product at the time and to have just one upgrade on it is really not acceptable.

I totally agree. 2 software updates is good. For a budget device I can understand 1, but for flagship, it should be 2.

My advice is always, "If your not buying Nexus, make sure the OS that's on the phone/tablet at point of purchase is stable and bug free as you may not get any updates."

Its just a pity there isn't a Nexus tablet at the moment. They didn't put enough Ram in the Nexus 9 so performance is a joke, even using custom roms. (I've been there and now sold that T shirt.)

Samsung should separate there additions from the os so that the os can be updated.Otherwise it becomes junk in a short order of time

Totally agree. If only we could have the stock OS with the OEM apps as an extra. Having said that, at least Samsung are making there builds a little less bloated now.

why is this cold? I think the price is pretty good

why so cold? it's a good deal.
