Wow. Really milking the hell out of this!
These are cool may have to grab the nights watch bottle
They should have done whiskey for the southern houses and vodka for the north.
bit gimmicky, but there's some seriously good whisky in there at least.

Not quite sure how that makes sense given 'the north' i.e. Scotland is renowned for Whisky...
Dieago have a habit of this. The Blade Runner 2046 Johnnie Walker (product placed non too subtly throughout the movie) was just JW black in a black plastic bottle wrapping.

I wonder if John Snow will be enjoying a Cardu Gold at a very over inflated price. " I luv you Cardhu Gold !!"

I doubt they will be a good investment if you are hoping to make a profit.

Don't understand why anyone would buy a bottle of whisky at an inflated price purely because it's got a different label on it, just silly!

Amazon have the Cardhu Gold Reserve for £38 and the Dalwhinnie for £40, so the GoT ones are £8 and £10 more.

As I said in the deal, not going to be as cheap as buying the whisky alone, but if you like collectibles, then it could be for you (and at least they haven't filled it up with some cheap blend)

Depends on numbers. Diageo are notoriously vague over this kind of thing though. The Blade Runner one is worth a few hundred quid now, but that was limited to a number.

The nights watch bottle will be the one that sells out, IF any of them do.

For reference the Lagavulin 9 (Lannister) got rated the highest in reviews of them all at 92/100

No just cheap NAS single malts.

Cardhu Gold and Dalwhinnie Winters gold are always around at £25. So £15 more and £25 more than their true prices.

True they have a Clyneish, Oban, and Lagavulin hiding in there. Given that Lagavulin's that are less aged than the standard 16 year old always cost more (and are popular) £65 is probably the best value one.

I was thinking more of vodka in the snow.

I’ve had the privilege to taste them and the Clynelish (which is cask strength) and the Talisker (really interesting taste profile) were the standouts for me. I’m a huge Lagavulin fan but was slightly disappointed. 36831378-KRfg7.jpg
There are a couple of complete 8 bottle sets on just whisky auction site at the moment and both sets are sitting at £1000. Looks like they are either duty free or export bottles going by the 75cl sizes.
Lucky you expired this deal as it seemed to be going colder than a white walker's heart.
Why has this been expired?

I doubt theyve even been bottled, isnt that what pre-ordering is about?
At first glance they are attractive until you evaluate each of the whiskies and their costs. Not to mention this isn't a fixed number production so a true collectable angle is out..

I mean, he probably wouldn't know if the price was over inflated. He does know nothing after all.

Because winter was coming
If you are a GOT fan and a whisky person who collects the bottles and packaging, just wait for people to drink theirs and sell the tube + bottle on ebay for a few quid.

Do you think it will be just the packaging on ebay for a few quid?
I'll probably just pick up a Clynelish because I like their 14 year old, but is it worth pre-ordering? Are they actually expected to sell out?
Doesnt look like it would ever sell out, its been on Amazon in a few countries for serveral days now not that limited this limited edition
Guys, just a heads up in case anyone is interested - I was just browsing Amazon and noticed that some of the more sought after GoT whiskies are now available to order again and will apparently be in stock on June 1st. I suspect this is specific to Amazon only as no other retailers have advertised getting them back in.

If you look at the secondary market prices for Royal Lochnagar and Clynelish specifically you'll see why it may be worth getting an extra bottle of each of these!!

Last month on scotchwhiskyauctions.com Royal Lochnagar was selling at £340-360 a bottle and Clynelish was selling at £250-270 a bottle.
Do you work for diageo? They will just keep on bottling more when these sell out, its not rocketscience.
Game of thrones + Diageo = Boats for Diageo staff

Thanks for the info stellamaris, this deal got destroyed first time I put it up but as you say they seem to be picking up value. I bought my stark bottle and will wait and see what happens, if the value doesn't go up then I have a nice bottle of whisky to enjoy and a cool bottle to hold on to.
Well the first bottles on auction did make a bit of money, auctions are always funny like that, but if you check scotchwhiskyauctions or whiskyauctioneer now, I doubt these new bottles will be sold with any profit. These bottles are just everyday drams in fancy packaging, they never said how "limited" the release was so they can and will bottle how many they want and for as long as they want. If youre a GOT fan or want to try one by all means get it, but if you want to get them as an "investment" you have been fooled by Diageo.
