Game Oldies - Play Sega, Nintendo, Playstation + more in browser (keyboard/gamepad required)

Game Oldies, offers ready to play emulation that works in a flash enabled web browser. There's no dodgy plugins to download (ie Java). Takes seconds to warp into nostalgia.

Bonus : Option to play in full screen, saving/loading checkpoints and usb gamepad support! (I successfully played with a Xbox one gamepad).

Psone emulation may run a little slow if your device/computer isn't powerful enough, I found closing down the browser and reopening it before play and toggling to full screen helps prevent stuttering.

Game on!

Sounds intetesring will be checking this out. Many thanks OP.

That's awesome! Thank you very much for posting. Voted hot and bookmarked.

Off to play some Alex Kidd now

fluidz

Funny you mention Alex the kidd, I just played it too!

Aha, awesome! The only difference is I was playing Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle

Looks great, already found Dino Crisis, Final Doom and Crash Team Racing...ahhh memories!

The problem is though, you probably can't save your progress.

well best go retro and either complete in one sitting or leave on pause while you go play some footy with your mates

Op did state that it supports save/load and presumably that'll be saved locally so provided it doesn't get corrupted you should be golden.

Doesn't work for me white screen that says starting emulation, I have the latest adobe flash anyone solved the problem?

Heated, great freebie and the emulation looks very good indeed for browser based emulation, though for more than casual play I'd always go with a dedicated emulator or even better the actual hardware, if you really want to get into retro gaming in a serious way.

I think the big grey border would annoy me after a while though, does it have a proper full screen mode or is it always bordered?

Something tells me that website will not be up and running for long once Nintendo get wind of it.

Excellent! I remember pumping a lot of money into some of those coin guzzlers. Now they're playable in a browser. Such is the march of technology.

I tried playing a Playstation game, no luck gets stuck on blue loading bar

This looks great! Will give this a go now

Thanks for sharing

the PS1 games do take longer, had to be very patient for Crash Bandicoot to load up, eventually did.

If you go onto the forums and go to the oldest posts, you can see the website has been up since 2013

I made the point about Nintendo as they are always the ones that get the most worked up about copyright infringement.

Speaking of which, a brilliant reworking of the music for [Great Giana Sisters]

I'm glad it was posted, great for those who didn't get to sample these classics first time round the chance to now.

If it wasn't for those wonderful people who develop emulators and convert the old games to roms, often for no profit either, many wonderful classic titles would be lost as the hardware and games gradually fail and are lost or (foolishly) thrown away. Emulation is a wonderful thing and in this instance the law is an utter ass, what possible harm does playing some old games in your browser do?, not like any of these titles are commercially active any more....

ah well.. if the law is an ass then its ok..
not saying either way just the legality is obvious and does the site want to be involved?

All great with the exception of installing an ad blocker. Because if we all did that, the service wouldn't exist.

True that, amended Op.

Dino Crisis is incredibly slow at running... wtf?

Shame there's no Sega Saturn games.

This is gold. OP deserves applause.

Dino Crisis??!! Gonna be up all night shivering, hiding from them scary dinos

It doesn't work properly. Waste of time. Pity.

No problems here.

sweet! Thanks, will plug my xbox one controller in and play some games!

Might be a loophole in the law the same way streaming copyrighted content seems to be? As long as no copy is being made.

I tried a PS game and the sound was iffy, I've got a decent rig too. Thanks for telling us about it.

Cheers OP.

Don't forget about the equally good resource called Internet Arcade - http://www.hotukdeals.com/freebies/900-games-added-free-internetarchive-pacman-indiana-jones-temple-doom-golden-axe-2040754

It's been a year since that was last posted by jaystan (banned?). Didn't risk a repost. Holla if you think I oughta.

Do you mean the knock off game Cybertron Mission? Berzerk was an arcade game that was not released for the BBC Micro.

Piracy via a browser emulation is still piracy. Yeah yeah I know you own all the games already sure, and im in line to be the next pope.

It's not piracy, it's preservation.

It's hardly like they are hosting PS4 and Xbox One games after all.

The games on there are all past commercial viability but are fascinating and still great fun for people who care about retro gaming...
