Would have been tempted if the PS4 has a longer period of time before the PS5 releases.

Just something to be aware of, when making a decision.
I have owned all three versions of the PS4 Pro. This is all IMHO using a decibel meter, DB noted below each model

Tested all 3 with GT Sport, with HDR enabled at same point in the game

7016...Launch version: Damn loud, fans whirring away heating up the room. Really off putting 58DB!

7116... Second version: Much better, still a bit noisy and pushing out a bit of heat, slightly offputting
46DB

7216: Latest version: Superb, hardly any noise at any point in the game, dead chuffed.

If you’re planning to get a PS5 next year, I really wouldn’t be too worried about upgrading from the PS4 to the PS4 Pro at this stage.

That’s a good deal, I’ve got an original PS4 might take that in
Anyone know if they’ll take one unboxed?

Tempted! Got the original PS4 and would be happy to replace it for this price. Not sure if they will take old controller though and I'd sell COD if possible as I have o interest in the game.

yeah they will but the ps4 needs to be in working order, my nephew auto cd suction thing is broke so they wouldn't accept it . basically everything should work.

Great deal, have the original ps4. They might be fussy with controllers without barcodes tho

I opened mine to install a HDD, I'm assuming they won't take it?

Not too sure about that. Save the 140, and put it towards your ps5

Just put the old hdd in, should be fine. Changing hdd doesn't invalidate warranty afaik
I did this a couple of years ago - day one PS4 upgrade to 1TB Slim. I think it was £80 for the FIFA bundle. Only problem I had was that I went to the store 3 times and got lucky on the 3rd visit that the stock lorry had just arrived.
Crazy deal. Already have a Pro might take my launch PS4 and get another then shot my old Pro.

They normally fuss over the controllers muat have the micro usb cable, and thumb sticks having no damage or cuts on the rubbers, cant remember about bar codes
Tbh they doing the same deal for 200 so only giving you 60 trade in essentially

The £209.99 item is the 500GB PS4 (original); not the 1TB PS4 Pro.

The item being offered as part of this trade-in deal is the 1TB PS4 Pro (£299.99):

Probably next December though. So if you have an original 4 then at this price it’s a decent upgrade for 13-14 months.

Not without a decent 4k TV no.

And before anyone accuses me of console bias, the same can be said for the xbox one x.
I guess I'll avoid and use that £139.99 towards my next new console.

I've already got call of duty arriving based on the 20% eBay discount code.
Not 139 then is it if you are handing over a ps4 which has some value.

I'm tempted to trade in my original Pro just to get a new one at this point, the thing is a nightmare, sounds like a jet engine.

What do you mean by 'if the PS4 has a longer period of time'? Do they spontaneously combust when the PS5 launches?

The PS4, in fact even more so the Pro, is an amazing gaming console, with its massive game catalogue it will still be played well into the console life of the PS5, and I'm pretty sure will have games produced for it for at least the first 24 months. Like I've just said to a friend on the phone, you're buying Call of Duty anyway, pop that hundred notes on top and get the Pro.

Cracking deal, OP - heated and thank you for sharing.
Likely you spent £200 on a ps4. So then you spent another £140.... so total cost £340, may as well have just bought the pro to begin with
Although you do have the depreciation factor

To make this worth it you really need to find someone selling an old working ps4 for £100ish...

If you sell it next year then you will probably get say 150 for the pro, vs 50 for the original? Take away the cost of the game and you will not be losing anything, just gaining from the new machine with full warranty during that period.
sick of using an external HDD as leaves me with no USB ports and even more wires after having my headset receiver plugged in as well, so the 1TB is welcomed!! Already planning on getting MW so i’m definitely tempted to trade in my fat PS4.
Is it worth upgrading to this one with 1 year left in the product cycle? I would sell cod so it would come to around 90

If you have a 4K tv, it’s a huge difference for all the upscaled games, fortnight and indie stuff it’s not worth it. But Spider-Man, days gone, red dead , horizon zero dawn etc etc there’s a huge difference.
Anyone know when the pricing for PS5 is going to be announced?

They won’t accept it. You need to have original controller with visible barcode
I reckon PS5 will be £500 plus, will get one on release day
Edited by: "Spooooooooooooon" 23rd Oct 2019
All of you saying you're saving your £140 for next-gen consoles are missing the point. The game alone is worth a good £40-50 which brings the upgrade price down to £90-100. At worst you would think the Pro will be worth around ~£80 more than the standard console this time next year when it comes to trading in for the new consoles. In reality looking at it that way it's almost a free upgrade in which you can get a fresh warranty and controller too. This is almost a no brainer if you already want the game and are going to trade in next year.
Aren't all the ps4 save game data files saved onto the console hard drive? How would I go about keeping these if swapping to a new console? Cheers
