GAME up to 50% extra credit (trade in, pre order)

Posted 15th Jul 2018Available: National

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Saw in a few GAME Store locations so I think it's across all or most GAME stores:

If you pre order an upcoming game (I think it's for any console platform) you will get 25% extra credit towards the pre ordered title if you trade in a game when you go to pick it up and pay. This will be 50% extra credit if you are an Elite member.

No expiry date noted for the offer but this doesn't mean it's permanent. I didn't see any end date and this could end tomorrow or today for all I know.

Hope this helps people pick up a bargain

Now their trade in prices are only 40% less than any other competitor in the market.

Game is useless on their pricing, hmm should I buy that brand new copy for £28? Or buy that preowned copy for £39.99?

> Cex gave me almost £20 more than game for 3 games and that was CASH. I think game just rely on those parents who don't know the value of games and just trade it in for low amounts.
> An awful website that is nearly always broken or difficult to resolve cases.
> Overpriced as hell, I mean do they even try to compete? With amazon having decent prices there is almost no reason to go into store anymore. Give the consumer a reason to?

When game stopped price matching on trade-ins I just stopped going there.

EDIT: Oh and would you like to buy an Xbox One X for £449.99 or an Xbox One X With an extra controller for £449.99?34357323-Vdy9p.jpg

As sad as it is to slate a company like this, I have to say I agree with you all, I have recently purchased items from their website, listed as new and quite clearly were not once they arrived, I then had the headache of a returned order that I cancelled literally 10 minutes after purchasing and yet I had to wait nearly three weeks for a refund!

It's a sad state of affairs but I doubt they will last much longer as a company, inflated prices, terrible customer service and in-store they just leech off of people who know nothing about gaming and then try and push disc care which is the most pointless product now due to most discs being on Blu-ray discs which are hard as nails anyway!

Won't miss game when it's gone either tbh.
Everyone slating GAME, but don't they beat CEX trade prices by a quid? They do in the Hull one by me, at least.
I think it depends on how you use the system. If you trade in games you paid full price for you probably won't see the benefit. I traded in games only yesterday against a pre-order which i bought specifically for trade in at game which cost me £19 and used the 50% additional trade in and got £79.50 credit. There are ways to even the balance if you are happy to look into their pricing a bit closer. There are times you can come out a winner. As a criticism, the game website has been trash since day 1 and still as useless as ever. It's time they sorted that out if they want to survive.

No, they ended that policy years ago. Some stores will still do it but it’s not an official policy and to be honest not worth the hassle.

yeah because no other retailer has bundles and then doesn't discount the stand alone whilst offering them side by side. seems someone doesn't understand how bundles work

Just still don’t understand why people use this company, most expensive place to buy consoles/games etc in the country!
Could I use this for existing pre orders?
Think people have completely wrote this off before even looking at it properly!! Yesterday I traded:
donkey Kong on switch
Far cry 5 on xboxone
God of war on ps4
Yakuza 0 on ps4
Lego avengers on ps4.
Managed to get £150 trade which in my eyes is awesome! (Got £51 for donkey Kong... Yeah more than any mint price at the mo!) People always say that vex are better value, but I don't like having to disinfect myself after going in there let alone the s### smeared all over their stock

Oh my, looks like Argos are in on the difficult choice deals as well! I'll just buy that Xbox One X from Argos instead! At least ordering from Argos won't have the box already open and the console used.

I know how bundles work, but cant I poke fun at a retailer that has worse pricing techniques than any other?

except as i pointed out these pricing techniques are employed by every other retailer that does such bundles. So it's a bad argument. frankly it's a stupid spiteful one. rather than an issue with game. makes you come across someone who holds the most petiest of grudges.

Genuinely far more likely to happen the other way around. Argos is the easiest place to get away with returning a console after playing it because they rarely bother checking that the contents are unused when such things are returned.

game on the other hand unless it's sealed (or broken) will always refuse those kind of returns (clinging onto that sweet £ :P). they'd always check them. when i worked there the instructions from head office were if it's not sealed they're not getting a refund under any circumstances (if it's faulty it's only supposed to be a replacement not refund, from my experiance if someone claims a console is faulty and they want a refund rather then a replacement, that's a sign something is a lil dodgy)

if you genuinely recieved a preowned one, it'd either be 1) a simple mixup.(especially if ordered online, they're morons) 2) someone has gone out there way to scam a return (making it look sealed, if it's returned sealed you don't open it) or most likely, you noticed the seals weren't in tact and instantly jumped to the conclusion "oh it's been used" when in reality the seals microsoft/sony use on their hardware aren't anything more than crappy little circular stickers. everytime game get one delivered like that they inform microsoft/sony. fun fact these constant 'conversations' are why nintendo stopped sealing their hardware.

obviously there's a chance you got unlucky, like there's a chance at every single retailer that sells consoles. but the idea that game are selling new consoles and giving a preowned one on a huge scale intentionally is 100% utter bs. there are third parties around to ensure stuff like that never happens, cause that's illegal, the company go out their way to not mess that crap up cause it'll cost them millions.

Sorry, even though it was slightly irrelevant in the reply, that comment was based off the whole "Pre-Owned costing more than New"(When I mentioned their pricing techniques) But yeah I can't disagree with most of the rest, no matter the retailer its possible but from experience I've had pretty bad luck with game and quite a few people on HotUKDeals seem to have had similar issues. I'm just hoping my two "New" orders actually arrive new this time...
