Pick a partner and race through wild courses as you compete in tough circuits or duke it out with power-ups and items in battle arenas.

Features: Double the fun! Each kart holds two racers that can switch places at any time. Choose from a huge cast of favorites, like: Luigi, Peach, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Wario and many more, and pair them up in any combination. The character in front handles the driving duties, while the character in the rear doles out damage with six different items plus eight special items that only specific characters can use. Reach new levels of frenzy with four-player mayhem, as each player controls two characters as they speed through Mushroom Kingdom courses. Place first in racing circuits to open up progressively more difficult circuits. Of course, you can have multiplayer races on any open courses or battle in arenas.

Link the game with eight other players using a broadband adapter and race each other side-by-side using multiple game systems and multiple televisions!

People are voting cold because the Wii is coming out soon? There's plenty of decent games available for the gamecube and this is a great price (and one of the best games) - £30 compared to the £180 Wii which isn't out until 8 Dec. Then after a while when the Wii is cheaper you can buy that and still play all the gamecube games you got on it.

Grab this if you haven't already had a gamecube, want some cheap Nintendo fun and aren't buying a Wii straight away.

People are probably voting cold because its a pre-owned console that you can get from any games store - gamestation, game, dodgy shop down the high street. And they will also have to give it a 12 month warranty by law.

OK the price is cheap but nothing special for a console that never did any good in the 1st place and people think they may play the Cube games on their new Wii's (a few times then get fed up of the crap graphics!).

You could also look in the free-ads section of your local paper and find a cheap one someones selling.

I didn't vote it cold by the way (just Warm).

its good for a gift, if your lucky and get a mint condition gamecube, if not then i dunno, i just saw it and thought it was cheap

Yep worth it for the kids to mess about on or a retro gamer.

It's worth getting if you definately get Mario Kart but as it states while stocks last you may end up with only the console.

Comes with free Mario Kart though, the £30 refurb consoles on the high street do not. Mario Kart is usually quite expensive in the high street shops, even preowned - cheapest I see new online is £24 for just the game and no console.

A lot of people liked the Gamecube even though it never reached the popularity of PS2 and Xbox. If you can find all of the big first party Nintendo games cheap you can get a very solid games library including lots of my favourite 1 player games and loads of fun 4 player party games (two Metroid Primes, various Zeldas, Smash Bros, every game with Mario in the title) plus a few gems from other companies (mostly available on the other systems too though).

If you're that bothered about "crap graphics" then I suppose it's not for you - that's fine. Looks a bit better than PS2 and plenty of people still play that. The wii doesn't improve on the graphics THAT much so that's probably not for you either.

I wouldn't quite call it retro gaming - it's the end of the current/previous generation. But then again I still think PS1, N64 etc are a bit too new to be called retro gaming too. SNES and earlier is retro, anything newer than that is just not quite current.

edit: Actually, most of the good games are quite expensive or difficult to find, and the "while stocks last" thing makes it sound a bit of a gamble. I've changed my mind, don't bother.

OK I won't argue then

SOME ONE LEFT ME WITH NEGATIVE REP FROM THIS POST :x

I think it's a great deal. TBH I still think alot my cube games looks good against my 360, especially through the official component cable.

In my mind at this price everyone should have a Cube, there are some great games for it including the bundled MarioKart for starters:thumbsup:

Will be giving this a hot vote right now, good find!

There was no need for that, I can't see any reason to leave negative as long as the deal offered in the post is genuine.

It happens now and then Spark  Some people use it as a weapon, some as a gift, but it soon evens out...

The GameCube looks a good deal at this price and I'm sure there are kids as well as adults who would find it fun

I used to have one, the Star Wars games on there are awesome.

Given that the Wii isn't a huge leap, then I suspect that may not be the case, besides, if I get a Wii, then I'll continue my hunt for a cheap copy of RE 4, which certainly isn't for the kids.

If I had one, I'm pretty sure I would enjoy playing Mario Kart on it :-D

Retro? This is the present on-the-way-out generation! Try a bit further back, like the Megadrive.

Retro enough in that there's still a huge back catalogue you can get for cheap that's there to be abused which is exactly what I plan to do

Don't also forget that some of the best Resident Evil episodes are still GameCube exslusive :

-Resident Evil (GC exslusive, one of the best games released on any platform)
-Resident Evil Zero (GC exclusive, another great game)
-Resident Evil 2 (similar to PS version)
-Resident Evil 3 (similar to PS version)
-Resident Evil: Veronica (slightly better than the PS2 version)
-Resident Evil 4 (another reason to get a GC, in my opinion the GC version is better than the PS2 version)

Let's also not forget the Metroid and Zelda games, and many other games available only for the GC!

GC = GameCube
PS/PS2 = PlayStation/PlayStation 2

So Resident Evil on the Cube is different game from the PS version or an update? I know the graphics are better but thought it was an update, perhaps I'm getting mixed up with Code Veronica?

Just bought Eternal Darkness BTW which is another horror exclusive classic apparently.

The GC version of Resident Evil is a completely re-designed and extended conversion of the orginal PS game, read more about it below:

P.S. Check out the game graphics!!

Thanks Sarbjeet_ Looks like a descent deal to me...

£29.99 is a very good deal for people who don't own a GC. The problem with the deal from my angle is that the GC has near to no re-sale value, meaning you would find it hard to sell the GC if you already own it and are just looking for a good deal on the game.

So annoying... all I want is the damn game!

Anyone know a good price for Mario Kart? The cheapest price seems to be £23...

i got a xbox 360 the games on that are about £40 new ones. and this cost £30 with a fanatastic game, its not bad to have for a while, i still have my xbox , becasue its so fun to player 4 player halo, with your friends, and the cube is only £30, i would say bloody cheap. its good if you dont want to sell it. and also the good thing is that when wii comes out the games for gc will be even cheaper.

Last I checked (few months ago, might have gone down as the Wii approaches, which is why I sold my cube already) you get £20 for it in Game, probably slightly more in Gamestation etc. That means a tenner for Mario Kart, if stocks have lasted.

I just picked up the PS2 version cheap, since that actually supports widescreen. Looking forward to playing GC RE when I have my Wii.

If you get one of them and keep mario kart, I'll buy the GC off you for 7 quid.

Looks to have expired now,

But is was a great deal, Mario Kart alone is worth the £30, but you would need at least another controller to get the most out of it.

Must admit, this was a good deal if Mario-Kart was included.

I'm actually about to buy a Gamecube. I've had a PS2 for a few years but just sold it on here a few days ago since I was basically bored of it.
Seems to me that a lot of PS2 games try too hard to be like movies, have loads of cut-scenes etc. , whereas Nintendo games are generally focussed on quality gameplay. A lot of them look a bit 'kiddish' but they play really well.
Pure fun gameplay without other distractions appeals to me at the moment.

I don't personally like the Mario-Kart games though, otherwsie I would probably have snapped one of these up.

Anyway, anyone after a cheap Gamecube, check your local GAMESTATION (where I'm going to buy mine from).
I think prices vary slightly from store to store, buy my branch sells them used for £42.99.
For this price you also get your choice of £20 worth of used games (either 4 from thier '4 for £20' offer, or 2 from thier '2 for £20 offer').
I also asked about a memory card and and was told I could get one thrown in free.
Also, I guess the advantage of buying like this is that I can look at all the consoles they have in stock and choose the one in best condition.

Only downside I can see with the Gamecube is that quite a lot of the best games are still expensive used (regardless of how old they are), especially Mario Games, Zelda, Wario etc. Something to do with Nintendo's pricing policies I believe.I can live with that though

Anyone buy this? I need a gamecube but I want to buy it with a game!
