Low end? This is firmly mid range.

Really? I’d have said the 3700x is mid range and a 5700xt but I’m not an expert
A 5700 at least, not a 1660 Ti. This is way too expensive.

A 1660 Super is definitely not mid range.

    Awful deal?
I decided to check and use Amazon for comparison using the component list from the OP's link : £1,041.44

The computer is also fully built, with 3 years warranty. I couldn't find the exact water cooler, but used a similar one listed at the bottom of the breakdown:

It can compete with a gtx 1070 but averages less FPS in games still - a card released in 2016. I'd definitely say the 1660 Super is mid range

Saying it competes with a 1070 but that it averages fewer fps is rather contradictory don't you think.

It's around 10% slower than a 1070 gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com…609

And rates as 'poor' when looked at on its own gpu.userbenchmark.com/Nvi…056

This is a decent low end GPU at best.

Not really, on some games it can get better FPS (such as battlefield 1 on 1080p for example) than the 1070, or about equal on Farcry 5 (ultra settings at 1440p for example), so it competes.

I once scored from 30 yards when playing football with my mates, doesn't mean I compare to Lionel Messi does it just because he does it as well.

That's not really a relevant point to make, I gave direct comparisons of the same games with the cards to explain my thoughts. Feels like you're taking it very personal which wasn't the intention.

Yeah really fair point mate. It’s basically just cost of the parts! Hate the build though. Wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole
The 3 years warranty is actually very generous, covers parts and labour throughout, also during first year of warranty, transit costs are covered if the system has to RTB. If faulty components are end of life, then current generation of equivalent components are used for the repair, essentially a free upgrade.

It's not bad in that it's at cost but it just seems to have a few bits I wouldn't personally choose.
Like I wouldn't want that card or the m.2, water cooler, case, over priced motherboard or £82 copy of Windows 10.
You can probably get one with less fancy bits that's just as good.
There's no need for a mobo that expensive and who pays full price for Windows.
Its worth its money, it's not an awful deal but I personally don't think it's a good deal.
It wasn't my cuppa-tea for components either, but I guess we're not the target market.

The breakdown was to debunk a comment that someone wrote about it being an awful deal. They made it sound like they could easily create a far more powerful and cheaper system (which is possible, if you shop around, get lucky and find sales) but the system was far from a complete write-off as originally commented.

Not at all. Just let go that the 1660S isn't a mid range card. It's misleading others to say it is and this deal being rated stone cold seems to suggest others think the same.

It costs more than you think.
I spent about £650 buying the bits for mine but that was without a graphics card and an £82 copy of Windows
Cost me over a grand in total.
I think this one would benefit from a cheaper cooler and mobo and put that money towards a better card.
Seems daft to have a pc costing over a grand and only having a 1660 super in it.
I think the other pre built posted recently with the 3600x and 5700xt was more what people would class as a deal at £785.
Not as fancy and probably some corners cut but a good deal.

I'm really struggling with this scale. Lets say Messi = 2080 Super. What does a 1030 equate to?
