Its not really any cheaper, but perhaps more efficient? The which website claims nearly most of the 15 convector type heaters they tested did not actually heat up to what they claimed? this was not reviewed but for the small 500w perhaps just more than the cost of a bulb this is the choice for offering substantial heat at the lower cost, I now have this and can confirm just leaving it on for 2 hours the room is much warmer. their only downside is that they are socket switch operable no actual on off switch and no timer? I did however just buy a naff £1.99 plug in timer from dunelm so now have this come on in the early hours when the room goes cold and I cant afford to use my gas central heating! Its just the madness you go to to help provide the heat with ridiculous fuel prices
I bought one of these last year for a similar price, wouldn't be without it now, heats up a fairly large room within 30 mins. Heat added.
Why is this cheap heat, the difference between this 500W and a 3000W heater, to heat a room to a set temperature, is the amount of time they are turned on (providing they have built in thermostats!). Yes its a good price, but not because it uses less electric or is cheap heat!
No thermostat, so constant 500w drain, unless switched off manually.
Cool you found it cheaper, if I get another I will choose amazon, still a great deal for those in the need of cheap heat without the electric bill going through the roof, Thanks!
