We bought one of these feeding stations from argos -

argos.co.uk/sta…htm

Before popping to our local Blooms Garden Centre on 01/01/2010 and seeing the same thing at £9.99! Not sure how long they are at this price for.

Heres to helping the birds :-)

My son has asked me if this is robust enough to take direct hits from air gun pellets?

Great find OP ...They also have these or very similar in 'Instore' or 'Poundstretchers' for £6.99 (reduced from £9.99) bought one today...seems quite sturdy made from metal and painted quite well. It does look exactly the same, same number of feeders, trays etc.
Store was in Westcroft (Milton Keynes) and they had lots in stock.

should be hard enough to ricochet a pellet hopefully straight back at him!

Yep...can confirm very pleased with the one I mentioned earlier for £6.99 I just put it together in a few mins with the allen key provided...no problems at all....even managed to get it into the rock hard soil without a problem...i am impressed with the quality.

Your Sons name wouldn't by any chance be Richard Cranium would it???

I confess - I was kidding and apologise to all you bird lovers.

thought the author could do with a few more comments so I dropped in the question... Thinking about it though, I reckon you could link it up to an electricity supply....

Seems it's only me and you that have a sense of humour ;-)

Im no birdielover but as Ive had snow for the last 2 weeks and its still a 10 inch whiteout ive been feeding the poor little ******s as they must be starving especially as its been -10c.

Just been putting everthing on a plant saucer and leaving on the snow,a bird feeder here would have been hidden in the snow .Looks good though

I'm pretty sure these ones were £19.99 reduced to £9.99 and the deluxe ones were £24.99 reduced to £12.49 (I work there but I could be wrong!).

Deluxe ones £14.99 on whitehall garden centre website

store.whitehallgardencentre.co.uk/sto…it/

Deliver for £4.95 too. I ordered one from Amazon Marketplace for Christmas but they got in contact and said unless I was prepared to pay an additional £7 postage (I had already paid £4) they would have to cancel my order! Could have been doing with this earlier - been snow here for 2 and a half weeks!

Do the poundstretcher ones come with the seed/nut holders that are attached to the 2 top hooks in the picture? Also how tall is it?

I got the B&M one back near the end of summer for £7.99 - looks just like the one in the pic, but didn't come with any hanging feeders (had some already anyway), just the water bowl and seed tray. Was easy to assemble, and is pretty sturdy, but the lowest pole needs to be hammered into the ground well, otherwise the whole thing can wobble.

Its come into its own this winter though, with loads of birds flocking around my nuts! :-D

Some people are so boring!

I'm sure this is the same one that is available in Wilkinsons for £9.99 if you can't get to the other stores mentioned.

Just insulate it from the ground and then it should work just fine

I just bought one for £6.99 at Poundstretcher (or is it called Instore now)?! They had quite a few reduced from £9.99. Just set it up and it looks really good. :-D

just looked on argos site now 24.99

OK...this deal is available at all Wyevale Garden centres I reckon. When I hit the direct website link I noticed that initially the URL address came up as Wyevale and then re-directed to Blooms. We have a Wyevale locally and were genuinely about to buy one of these so off we went and there they were.
The Premium is reduced to £9.99 but does not come with the two feeders for seed and peanuts.
The Prestige is £12.99 and is the same feeder but includes the two feeders. A much better bargain! It is now in the garden and looks good.
All credit to chickpea for this deal.

Cheers

Bought exact same one in B&M before xmas for £7.99.....
