Doesn't seem to be any decent 245 Music deals about without student discounts and student card purchases. Given this includes the AfterShokz headphones in the package, which are doing the rounds at about £65, this brings the actual watch down to £235....Assuming you want the headphones too :-)

The things that made me opt for the 245 was the new chipset which offers longer batter life, and the body battery function.
Pulse-Ox I believe is flakey so that didn't factor for me. Altometer would be nice, but as I run and don't require current readings, the altitude is added post race by strava anyway

One thing to bear in mind with the GarminPay, is the UK cards which support it, only the following:
  • Cornèrcard: VISA
  • Danske Bank: MASTERCARD
  • Prepaid Financial Services: MASTERCARD

Inc the headphones that's decent, shame Amazon hasn't done a Garmin BF deals yet this year as they usually discount heavily. The 245 series is looking over priced to 645 and rest of the series...

Not really sure what your point is? They are two different watches, some common features, however a fair few different features. I haven't posted it to be a better deal than the 645, but to be a good deal for a 245. It's also not a good deal compared to a Amazfit Bip at £50, but not sure how that would be relevant either
The 245 and 645 are broadly comparable, the BIP isn't. I had the Amazfit Pace for a while and while it was good it wasn't suitable for internal track running. So it depends what type of sport you do, what stats you want / need etc.... BIP has its place for sure..
As others have said, unless you really want the 245 and those headphones the slightly older 645 Music is £199 at Argos is the better bet at the moment.

Being a year older it's missing a couple of minor features the 245 has (primarily the newer HR sensor with Pulse Ox) but there's also a couple of features the 645 has that the 245 doesn't such as the barometer (which allows it to have exercise profiles for things like Skiing etc), Garmin Pay and arguably it looks more premium with the metal bezel but overall they're very similar in spec and features so it is relevent to compare.

645 is a better 245, and is cheaper. Cold.
Does the 645 music have pulse oximeter?
Have some heat! I probably would have been tempted by this if I didn't already have some AfterShokz.

Ah, the age old "this is the best price for this specific item" vs the more nebulous "is this really good value objectively" debate! (I'll let you in on a little secret, it's not really a debate)

I didn't vote on your deal, I commented to serve the community with what I hoped was a straightforwardly helpful contribution which seems to have been vindicated (thanks people!) There really is no need to be so obtuse.
I bought the 645, but still voted this hot as its a good deal.

Hi, does the 645 have a pulse oximeter? That's the only thing putting me off at the moment.

No, that's missing on the 645. Instead you get a barometer, strava live segments and nfc payments so you need to decide what matters more.

Excellent thanks.
645 has been £200 this week and the Headphones are £70 in various places

Not sure its a dealbreaker as stuff I read suggested the accuracy of measuring pulse ox on the wrist whilst you're moving around etc is questionable as its something that really needs to be measured when you're sitting still and relaxed, plus its more normally done with a finger where the sensor is likely to have a better "view" of your blood than on the top of your wrist.

As an aside the 645 has lactate threshold calculation which I don't think the 245 does, which may be a more useful barometer of fitness etc than pulse ox

Wasn't aware how restricted it was, but I have a starling so thats all good. The 645 has way more than I was aware of, I've still not scratched the surface, but am very tempted to get a HRM to use with it for the extra metrics. I find myself starting to favour a leg slightly before I end up injuring myself (yet again), I'm hoping to get a better idea why!
