Garmin 250w sat nav instore and online price £169.99. However on the price match deal they will match the difference 110%. Amazon price £119.99 so price reduction in PC World is £50 for the price difference and £5 for the extra 10% giving £114.99. Just picked one up in my local store and they priced matched it without question.

my brother says tom tom is best

The TomTom One V3 has a fixed capacity memory and cant be expanded. No good for Europe USA Canada etc. It does not do well in built up areas according to Which. Some TomToms are excellent but not at this price

can't stand those TomTom adverts, so Garmin gets my vote.

I use Garmin navigational kit in the aviation world. Well made and reliable equipment, on that basis I have a Garmin 250 widescreen for use the car.

By the way this deal equals a very cheap 250 widescreen.....snap it up. Strange but I note Amazon are actually charging more for the 200w which is the next model down the range providing only UK and Ireland coverage so to my mind the cheaper priced 250w could well be a misprice by Amazon, if you can cash in on a price match through PCWorld you are quids in.

As an after thought to my last post....a word of caution also, if you are tempted to just order through Amazon there is an outside chance these units could have 2007 maps pre loaded hence the price reduction. (As I understand it there are some of these still knocking around) All Garmins should really have the latest 2008 version maps. Play safe and get it on the price match at PCWorld, Dixons or Currys and preferably over the counter so you can check you are buying a unit with bang up-to-date software. This is easily checked by booting up the device and accessing the system infomation.

You can up-date older versions via the Garmin web site but it will usually be at a cost of around £30.

Pleased to hear it, you certainly got a bargain there.

Also Garmin will send out 2008 maps to any customer who registers a unit between 01/12/2007 and 31/05/2008. So don't let the fact they may have 2007 (version 9) maps on them.

Great price for European mapping as it doesn't just stop at Germany (like the TomTom), but also goes further East (Poland, Greece etc)
