Great price, ordered. Can't see it being cheaper next week but will leave unopened just in case!
Good watch. I've got one ordered for click and collect
This - or will the 245 music drop next week?

Buy and return?

What benefits does the 245 have over this? I'm mainly a runner, some hiking, and need music but also would like a decent battery life if possible. Something Garmin aren't great at.
This is now £62 cheaper than garmin with a student discount, I think I'm going to bite.

EDIT: Reserved, so it'll be there for 2 days while I decide.

I use this website : versus.com/en/…rue and other than the Fenix series the best other Garmin is the 945 and instincts.
I've had one of these for a couple of months now. I wouldn't have over the battery life as using music GPS and bluetooth headphones all at once will drain even the battery on your phone rapid so it's tough to get 3 runs of an hr in before it needs a charge. The watch itself though is great. Plenty of stats to keep runners entertained and it's simple to add the majority of exercise types from any garmin watch onto this. Big thumbs up from me

Well worth £200 btw

compared to apple & samsung, i think garmin generally are great for battery life? guess if you’re doing ironmans then you’d need to pay for a fenix, but I can’t see that the 245 or 645 would disappoint you on battery

I use a bip at the moment, 45 days as a watch with HR on! Obviously less with GPS, but even running 10k 3 times a week I only have to charge it every 3 weeks or so. OK, it has much fewer features, but I'm going to miss never having to take a charger on holiday!
I think the benchmark for a half decent running watch has to be 4 hours with gps, heartrate and music on the go.

Not many people do a bigger distance than a marathon, and as we're talking advanced running metrics here I'd say a 4 hour marathon time would be where you'd want to be at before investing in this.

Anyway, just picked this up myself. Paid for so have 30 days to see if the price drops further.

Yeah, I guess it's because I wear mine as a normal watch too. I had the amazfit GTR recently, lovely bit of kit but the GPS was way out. This isn't as pretty, but I'm hoping it will be more use. So far my £40 bip is the most accurate device I've used, and I've hiked with people using garmins including this model. I think I've been spoilt!
Had one for almost 18 months. AMA

OK, I will!

How easy is it to get songs/playlists on? I use amazon music normally but don't think it's supported, I have a deezer account if it supports that?

When it comes to navigation, how useful is it? Not for running, I make that up as I go along usually, but is it adequate for hiking? How easy is it to load routes into, and does it just point the way to the next waypoint?

How accurate do you find the GPS? Anything about it you aren't happy with?

I'm off to pick mine up in a min, and despite saying I'll keep sealed and see what happens on black friday I'll probably end up playing with it and keeping it anyway!

Super easy to load music onto it. Use the Garmin express software and it integrates with iTunes. Amazon music is supported as is Spotify but I have yet to use them. Bluetooth headphones can be a bit spotty (depends which side you wear your watch and the Bluetooth receiver in the headphones). Sometimes I walk and the Bluetooth audio will break up but running, when my arms are closer to my head, and it's fine.

I've honestly never really tried the navigation. I'm normally pretty sure of my route so never used it.

Find the GPS great. It finds satalites quickly. I had an old forerunner and it took a good 3 minutes. This is ready in about 20 seconds. I find it can tell which side of the road I've run on and have used it during around 20 running events. Generally the GPS and actual distance matches up.

There are a ton of customisable faces, data fields and all sorts on the Garmin connect store which are all free and can really make the watch do what you need and want. (I just wish the new star wars faces were available!!)
Also the running chest strap gives some interesting data for a runner. I recommend that with this if you want just a few more stats.
This is a seriously good deal. I have one and paid £350 last year. It really is an excellent watch, best for serious runners
Great watch lots of heat! I paid full price £350 and don't regret it as its such a good piece of kit
I would also add - my 645m vibration died before a year was up. I bought direct from Garmin. Garmin are useless for return and replacement. They only replace with refurb devices however I was left waiting 3 months so they swapped for a new device. I don't know what sort of warranty Argos offer outside 30 days but I would have paid extra to have Amazon or John Lewis customer service.
Great deal. Probably best Garmin deal for years. Grabbed one to replace 235. Cheers

Anything new would be under garmin 2 year warranty. Spotify is excellent on this as can play podcasts unlike Samsung galaxy watches.

I would probably wait / hope for a deal from amazon then personally.
Thoughts so far:

As a smart watch it will win no prizes, but I'm very aware that isn't what it's for. Compared to the Amazfit GTR I had recently it is slow, clunky, and the screen looks similar to my bip.

Looking at what it can do though, once I get my head round it all, seems great. Currently synching my 4:45 pace playlist to it from amazon music, can't run at the moment annoyingly but I'll play with it on a wander later. Lots of apps, no idea how useful they will be yet but I'll find out soon enough. I guess the killer for me will be the GPS, if it's worse than what I have is it worth keeping, considering it is double what the GTR cost and I sent that back because of GPS issues? I may see if I can manage a cycle to find out.
Great watch for runners who also bike and swim. Doesn't do multisport or open water swims but that's a little niche. Beware this is now end of line. No new features arriving, perhaps bug fixes.

Steal at £200
Great price for this! I've been trying to decide between this and the Vivoactive 4 but at £80 cheaper I think this tips the balance.
I know it's unlikely to get new features, but for me at least I think it's got all the features I want ('til I see what I'm missing out on !) )

What is the GPS like on the bip? It is poor on my Xiaomi phone, and I read mixed reviews for it on the bip. I had a MI3 tracker and loved it, but when I wanted GPS I had to go Garmin.

It's good. The heart rate is plain wrong. I've got one of these reserved. But I'm struggling to justify the spend.
To sell or not to sell my Vivoactive 3 Music?!!

Can you see this?

labs.strava.com/fly…er/

The one that says gtr is really the bip, the other account is the garmin. Neither is perfect but I think the bip is usually closer to true.

Edit: just received a GPS update for the bip, I'll post the cycle back when done but I just got another pint in!

Edit 2: 1 hour cycle with GPS and music dropped it to 85%, more than acceptable.

Really struggling not to pull the trigger on this.
Currently have a Forerunner 235 that I use everyday for running, cycling, gym, sports, HR and sleep data.

Is this a worthy upgrade?

Check out deals for the Venu which has better sleep tracking. Similar kind of price but run metrics not the same level of detail as this

Ah cheers for the suggestion, I'll have a look.
Got this a year ago, amazing watch. Links with Spotify nicely and for my long runs of about 3 hours with Bluetooth and music still has plenty of battery left. Worth every penny for serious runners. Never fails.
Thanks for posting, we have added this to the Highlights section

I am currently debating the same question...I’ve only had mine for 6 months (upgraded from a 230). If I could get a good price for the Vivoactive 3 Music I’d pull the trigger...
