Feck me, 4GB card, you say?

How much footage do you think you need to provide evidence in a claim? They don't want your entire trip to Lidl.

I've bought a hard-wiring kit and add-a-fuse, will let you know when I've attempted to fit it (weekend).

I'd say it would be easier to hard wire it to your fag lighter if it's easy to access in your car.
Thanks good find not the China stuff

Just buy an add-a-fuse and a hardwire kit. Can provide you some links if you like. Personally don't want wires all over my car, I'll install under the A pillar.

Video examples on YouTube are more than adequate in my opinion, but to each their own.
I have 2 of these in my car which I bought from Sainsburys for £30 each when they were selling them off cheap a few months ago and I think the picture quality is pretty good although not quite as sharp as my old Transcend.

if it has a shock sensor it will fill up pretty quick. i had a 4gb card in my camera (not this garmin) and found i had to keep cycling through and deleting two minute videos of my front door from everytime my car door slammed shut. software might be different on this but my camera would protect the 'shock' files from automatic deletion and quickly fill up. having said that at least this comes with a card, many don't.

That's why you spend 30 minutes hard-wiring it to your fuse box, unless your ignition is live it's not powered.

for some that would defeat the object - you'd want to capture a video of whomever hit your car if it was parked up

You have 360 deg coverage?

A dashcam is rarely going to capture whoever hits your parked car unless it's literally reversing in to your bonnet.

Like I said, if you want a camera to not record you slamming your door, well, you hard wire it. If you want to drain your 12v and record 24x7 with a 128GB card, you're welcome.

For me, having wires hanging from my dash and using 12v is unacceptable and just looks s**te.

To each their own.
