The lowest price I've seen on this for a long time - according to CCC it's only been at this price one time since early 2016:

Most other bike retailers are charging around £399 so it's a good discount!

That's a corking price op . I've got the 520 and am well happy . This is the cheapest price ive seen for a long while. Prepare for the " you can get a BIKE computer for £5.99 " shouts though. Well deserved flames coming your way
Cold.....not Apple.
It's because the new 1030 is out.......
Excellent price. 1030 doesn’t give you much over this. Still very happy with mine.
I'm still really happy with mine too - I'm expecting the price to drop a bit further now the 1030 is out though.
Pricespy has the lowest price for this as only five pounds lower in Nov 2017 so a great find and heat from me.
Missed out on the 520 with HRM last week for £197 so tempted by this...hmm what to do get this or wait for the 520 to drop again.

Depends on what you are after.
If you want true mapping and navigation, a big touch screen and don't need new sensors, go for the 1000. If you just want a small device to record your cycling data with some mapping context and an extra set of sensors, then wait for the 520 bundle.
Had an edge 1000 for 3 years and been really happy with it. Sadly the power button has just broken and garmin support don't care (I think they have stopped supporting the 1000). Only option they offered was to send it back to them and they could give a refurbished unit in its place - for £195!!!

The power button seems to be quite a common problem if you search online.
I'm not a fan of touchscreen devices. Usually rubbish when wearing thick gloves.

Decent enough price, but I'd probably go for the 820 if you're after mapping. (I've got a 520 and a 935)

The touch screen on this actually works quite well with gloves on

Not in the rain as well though from my experience.

Fair enough, but I've never had a problem in 3 years because of it.

Unfortunately garmin's crappy build quality and support leaves a lot to be desired.
Argh, paid £40 more two weeks ago from Halfords!

Edit: actually mine was the package deal with HRM, cadence monitor and out front mount. I don't feel so bad now!

Get a bryton 530..
Worth noting that the Edge 1000 has a known design defect where the power button will gradually wear through the membrane through use. There is no easy repair and Garmin will only offer you a device swap for the best part of £200 for another Edge 1000. Plenty of grumpy users out there as a result...

Otherwise, it's a great device. It's just Garmin support that stinks and you should take this into account before you choose to buy.
Was just about to post this. Hot
