Cracking price. Hot. Obviously a high end piece of kit, but £90 cheaper than anywhere else. If you vote cold, please give a better reason than cycle computers are £25 in Tesco's. Thanks

Map my run app does the same and its free

No it doesn’t - you think it does
830 or 530 are far better value and less issues

Thank you @alrightnow for the info Absoulutely right... Great price & lot cheaper than elsewhere
Aye cracking price, dunno why so cold

I do think however the £449rrp is for the kit which is 1030m, HRM, speed and cadence sensors

Heat Added
I've got the Edge Explore, which is the baby brother of this model. It's a fantastic unit and is an absolute joy to use. I imagine this is the same, but with a lot more features. Heat from me, this series of Garmin are genuinely very good.
Amazon price is irrelevant. This has been about this price many times at many retailers. New one is imminent and this has many known issues so I’d steer clear

What are the issues with the 1030? I've had a 1000 for years with zero issues, came from an 800 which had issues.

Because a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt or Roam is just plain better!?

I went for the 830 instead even though it was slightly more expensive. It has all the same features but is smaller and lighter with a faster CPU. If you don't need the bigger screen on the 1030 then I believe the 830 is the one to get.

Not voting this deal cold though - it's a good price.

They don’t compete with this model.

Wait for it, the "just use a phone" brigade will be along any second with the same tired old comments they post on every single gps/tracker post

I am surprised it’s taken this long... I have been really happy with my 1030 and not had any niggles or issues to complain of. I got it for a lot less anyway but I wouldn’t go back to a phone on the handlebars any more - not only because it looks rubbish, it’s a bit like turning up to an Ironman with an Apple Watch

Just get the right tools for the job, if you enjoy riding, get a Garmin Edge - the 130 is great at the basic end and the 1030 fills the top-end nicely with the 530 and 830 in the middle.
Good price, voted hot.
I`ve got the 530 and very impressed with it, had the Wahoo roam but returned as had a few issues with it. IMHO the 530 is much better than the Roam. 530 has buttons rather than touch screen but soon get used to it.
I'm getting seriously worried that the I use my expensive iPhone strapped to my bike brigade haven't turned up yet.
So 'interesting' to hear the same old tired arguments presented everytime a Garmin deal is posted.

Did you get a good deal on it? Looking to pick up a 530 at a good price, but haven't managed to find any.

Think there was a small discount at the time, can`t remember exact price as few months ago
They are getting rid of the 1030 as its old stock. 530 and 830 a much newer and faster design, especially mapping. 530 does more than I need and very happy with it, so unless you must have the bigger screen and don't want the MTB features get the newer ones.

What? Wahoo’s range equivalent trumps Garmin all day long. Real cyclists know that - you can’t have used Wahoo before. It’s vastly superior in functionality and customisation.

It competes with the 500 series and the 800 series. The competition is based on price not features. You get more features in a Fiesta than you do in a Rolls Royce but they don’t compete with each other.

I researched heavily when buying my 530, and it was apparent that for 530 vs the Roam (both which came out about the same time and the same price), the 530 was faster and overall better. For previous generations of both, Wahoo came out on top. I think Wahoo still wins on build quality (and out-of-box QC), and customer service though.

Read the DC Rainmaker reviews. Garmin and Wahoo leapfrog each other.
