Just got a Aldi leaflet through the door advertising this deal for the 24th. As such, nothing on the website till the end of the week I guess.

That's a very good price.
Good price, heat added. Good luck finding one though, they usually only get two or three of this sort of thing in my locals. Only £5 more from Evans Cycles though.

Are you sure? It shows as well over £100 on their site - that I can see.

God, I remember the last Aldi cycling special I went to. Thoughts there was going to be scrapping in the aisle.
And yet seen some Garmin200 in the Halewood shop weeks after was first on offer.
This will sizzle?

That's the price of the edge 200. The 500 is £127.49
seems about right price as its nearly 4yrs old and 520 just came out.
Power meter compatible. That's going to be a must-have for most Aldi shoppers!
I use a cheap Chinese android phone(using my main phone as a hotspot) that has a 5.5 inch display and cycle sat nav via google maps and connect my cadance, heart rate to that. Blows any Garmin away and strangly cheaper, lighter,.

1. Won't last nearly as long
2. Another fragile device to worry about if you have an oopsie
3. Less accurate GPS
4. Not water-resistant

I used to use my iPhone and didn't see the point in a Garmin. As my rides got longer though, the battery couldn't cope and now I've made the switch.
The purpose made Garmin is much better and after half a dozen mixed rides(around 5 hours total), it's still got about 70% battery left.
Does it include HRM?

Ad says connects to but doesn't say if included?

Still hot & heat given.

I get your point, but then I'd need a 2nd gadget to make the first one work whilst on the bike. Another thing to go wrong.
I've tried both ways and I much prefer using a garmin.
Good price and 100 x better than using a phone, having all the info on show for speed, distance ect is very useful
Find mine sometimes struggles for signal when I'm the woods and on the tracks so a speed sensor helps

Expect both!!

heat added, but would prefer getting the new 520 or at least 510

500 has old sirf-star gps chip with only 4 ant channels

These also slow you down, reading various sites this is usually between 0.5 - 1 mph. Can be quite damaging on strava!

Just picked up one of these in my local Aldi, they had about 15 or so in stock according to the person I spoke to, but at least 4 more were sold while I was in there.

Thanks for the heads up OP
Was in the Prestwick store at 8am and got the second-last one. Didn't ask how many they had sold, though.
bought last one in reading at 8.20 am .they had sold 10 .
Thanks for the heads up on this - Kirkstall Leeds was sold out when I got in at 8:15, got the last one at Seacroft at 8:30am!! Woman behind me was not happy!
Managed to get the last one in Sheppey at about 12:30.
crazy was in mh local at 8:30 and only 2 left, decided it was worth a go at this price! ive got a tom tom multi sport which is great but runs out of battery on long rides and had no course option so thought it was worth a punt, got a week off and the weather is looking good so should be able to give it a good testing with any luck, cheers op
I got one in Batley

Woo Hooooo
Mapperley in Nottingham. Just picked one up. Non out on show they said they had a delivery last night and they're all in the back. Happy I got one!

When you say non on show did you look in the locked glass display cabinet?

I didn't even notice a cabinet. I looked in the cycling section. Didn't see any so asked a member of staff who went out back to get one
