10% for British Cycling and 3% Quidco.
Great price for the 810!
The 810 is noticeably worse than the 800 - it has better features but introduced bugs and other issues you just don't want when cycling. I had the unfortunate issue of it crashing mid-event and losing all my ride data, so I looked up the problems I'd had and it's fairly common (many threads on it). The touchscreen, display quality and UI on this device remind you of an early smartphone from mid-2000s! I ended up reverting to a basic but reliable Edge 200.
Why is this so expensive? What is it used for? oO
Great price for the Edge
Just looking at that myself, got the 500 but very tempted.
As mentioned, don't forget 10% voucher discount, quidco and British Cycling, makes a difference!

Beat me to it,
In the T&C's of the British Cycling discount it says "May not be used in conjunction with any other voucher." - Can anyone confirm this can be used?

Seems it's only available to reserve in-store and nowhere near me has stock. The B16BK12 code doesn't take anything off either.

They still crash during turn by turn navigation despite all of the updates.
Nothings perfect but Garmin are still where it's at for bike GPS. Set it to read your route from the sd card and write the ride to the sd card and crashes are less of an issue. I've gone from Edge 200 to 500 and now 810. I'm not going back!

Used BC discount plenty of times like this. Bought a boardman bike on behalf of a workmate a week or so ago with £250 off, the extra 10% flash discount and BC card.

Bike sat nav that is weatherproof, has great battery life and can display altitude, height gain, heart rate and pedalling cadence. it also sync with your phone to display messages, send tracking data to loved ones, weather alerts, etc.

I'd rather a resistive screen that worked with any gloves and preserved battery life rather than a power guzzler needing special gloves and an HD resolution I wouldn't appreciate on the occasional glance down while riding.
Going back to a 200 is fine if you don't need Navigation, heart rate, power, cadence, etc.
Crikey, these are in short supply. I live in Leeds and the nearest stock is Sittingbourne in Kent!

It was never active - unless you lived in the two towns that actually stocked it. Most pointless 'deal' ive seen for some time.
i had been eyeing up the 810 on Halfords website for a few days prior to this deal ( actually started eying up the touring but spied the 810 only slightly more costly for better features should I decide to expand it in future etc ) had it in my basket @ 1am one morning @ £209 pricetag, never bought it.

went to reserve it after sleeping on it & the sods had raised the price to £240 in the 7 hours I had been snoozing ( some googling suggests they may have previously price matched amazon as it had been around the £209 mark until a week or so ago )

later found it @ £215 on amazon & spent a day mulling over if it was worth the extra as its mostly for a ride to the coast next year ( more than happy with my current edge 200 otherwise - just needed the mapping for the long ride as I normally go via the motorway in the car so on the side roads I aint got a hope in hell without some guidance ) so I could wait & see if owt else popped up over xmas & new year etc.

was browsing round the Halfords site one morning at decent road bike to use on said long ride(s) before heading off to work & spied the special offer banner with it down to £189.99 so hit the reserve button on it ( according to the website my local store had no stock BUT could have been supplied with stock within a few days ( ordered on Saturday & was given a Tuesday arrival etc ) or the 2nd nearest store had stock & I could collect in an hour so I chose that one & toddled off to collect it.

arrived @ the wakefield store a short while later & was handed the 810 without fuss ( I think they had more trouble getting me to pay as they had to drag me away from drooling over the carbon fibre road bikes they had on display that I had been online to look at when I spotted the edge had dropped in price lol - oddly it was a bike that the website stated only the leeds branch had nearby & non of the local stores had any which says a lot about the online stock system lol )

a little disappointed about how crap the stock maps were BUT a quick google revealed a whole host of free maps that work very well indeed & the phone connection is handy for instant ride uploads ( saves me connecting it to the PC as often as that was the only real problem I had with the 200 - used to charge it either at work without the garmin software or at home from the mains plug so it would often be a good few weeks between ride uploads happening )
Sorry for being an idiot guys but what is the code for the discount as I can only see it for £218.98
thats the current halfords price sadly.

this deal was part of a 10 day technology special offer they ran a week or so ago when the deal was posted ( 10 days of offers - a different offer each day that ran for that day only & if memory serves this item was day 6. )

amazon still list this as 215.89 though for getting it a little cheaper & i think there may be a online store selling it @ 203 ish if you google it & click on shopping results - dont know how good/bad the seller is etc which is why amazon got mentioned 1st
