I think this is quite good price for this watches. I use them for one year now as runner and hiker and can't complain. Some people had defective watches, so keep Your receipt, just in case. Now is comming new garmin fenix 3 watches out, that is probably reason for price reduction. Also some other garmin products are discounted (f.e. separate HRM strap)

@Alansmithee , Your link shows watches WITHOUT heart rate monitor..

This is one of those things I really don't need but really want, trying to justify it to myself by saying "it displays texts and emails, that'll be handy"

@chrisbass , You need bluetooth smart (newish phones) to get notifications from phone to watches and to upload workouts to garmin connect via bluetooth. I never used notifications function and some people are reporting excessive battery drain when is it switched on..

Epic watch and price.....so tempted!

Wasting time not appealing to the masses? Luckily for me, people are posting things other than bloody memory sticks and console deals. Heat for a great watch!

I am gamer and often benefit from the console deals, however, your right endless console deals get boring...a deal is a deal is a deal

Haha, I am so tempted for another deal here on hukd, Garmin virb camera. It does have ant+ support, so I can controll it with my watches .
Thanks for every comment!

This looks like what I've been after for hiking trips. Can you import map data e.g. GPX?

Fenix 3 has just been … Fenix 3 has just been released:http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/03/garmin-fenix3-detailed-review.html

yes, ccparkhill, cotswold is taking PRE-orders for £400. It can be tempting, if You have some discount code. From my experience newly released watches need many software adjustmens, so I stay with fenix 2, so far..

I recommend, if anybody order expensive item, always check parcel in front of postman. My first watches were stolen from parcel..

Cotswold shipped out the first batch last week, that might have been the sapphire version though.

According to the above review the software is very stable.

Just check fenix 3 forum, how stable is fenix 3. I'll wait for fenix 4 .

Is the heart rate thingy a chest strap watch? I prefer the strapless kind

yes its a strap. I do have a scosche armband Mich more comfortable than straps but I still use them too once a week for hard workouts. optical sensors can't yet provide reliable recovery advise
