6x available for 500 at Cex grade B. I had one was mint except no box. But I reckon you'll have your wish for a new one.

I reckon the 6 is the pick of the bunch, just the right balance of weight, case size and screen size imo.
Offered 550 with hope of the 15% off too...

In my experience the case will scratch long before the glass anyway. I won’t pay extra for a sapphire again

Agree-prices are bound to drop further on BF or Cyber Monday. Since these are so much cheaper in the US (Best buy was recently selling the Fenix 5x for 300 USD) I'm also considering buying from the US through a reshipping company such as MyUS.com. Anyone used them before?

They have flat glass now so you can apply a tempered glass protector too. The mineral glass is actually clearer and less reflective too.

Don't expect a deal on the 6, it only launched 2 months ago, they will probably do something on the 5 and 5 Plus range.

I went from a 5S to a 5X Plus and for me it's too big, I did it because of the battery life really as the 5S (and certainly the Plus) can barely make an Ironman.

Yeah I binned off the 5s plus because the battery was truly awful.

Don't forget that us models will have us maps loaded and while it's free to load Europe maps it's a bit of a faff.

I really don't see the point of the sapphire given the ease and cheap cost of a screen protector on the gorilla glass which is also easier to read.

Hmm..I didn't consider that. Thanks for the heads up.
How do you compare this with the Samsung watch deal posted today? What's the difference between Garmin and other smart watches like Samsung/Apple. Sorry, i am a novice on this topic.

I have owned every garmin since the 235 pretty much and can say for sports they are hands down much better than Samsung. However as a smart watch I prefer the Samsung galaxy watch active 2 and that is my daily watch. Garmin does smart watch features pretty well but I love the screen and bezel of the Samsung. It does sports okay but battery life takes a big hit. If you're a novice I'd go with a nice Samsung for daily use and if you are training for something garmin has you covered at all price points these days. DM me if you have any specific questions

In fairness, a one time faff.
Heart rate monitor and tracker, what else does this offer with the exception of maps to a Xiaomi Mi band 4 for example?

I don't have personal experiences with them. I think they can do the work just fine. I can recommend Planet Express. So far I have good experiences.

I did the same, they came back and said that's too low but offered me £485!! Defineley worth asking!

I believe there would be a charge to buy/download maps from Garmin for another region. However, you can download 3rd party maps for free. Never tried this personally but had read this before.
I've been looking at the Fenix range, and the differences i can recall.
The 5 Plus - appears to be the F5, but with maps, music, and the banking (only Santander at present)
The 5 Plus gets rated as having a better battery.

5 Sapphire - I believe has Wifi in addition to the Sapphire glass.

I've spent weeks, looking over them, talking myself in and then out of getting one. And i'm currently undecided.

My current fitness / exercise regime is gym a few times a week, and 5 a side football once a week, with some swimming. But I also enjoy road and mountain cycling, and have signed up for a half marathon next year.

I know that the fenix range is probably a little overkill, and something like the Forerunner 235 /735 would be fine, but I also like the look of the Fenix range, more than the Forerunner.
Yes, I dont need the banking, probably not the maps, but also i like gimmicks and gadgets.

I'm keeping an eye on the prices too, and hoping for a nice drop. As if i want to track the Heart Rate during swimming, I understand that i'll also need a chest strap.

Its a shame that there are many in stores, so you could compare the 5 / 5x / 5Plus / 6

Is this still the best deal for this model?

Best I've seen yes, and like I said above, make them an offer. Got mine for £485.

Having owned the 5 and the 5 plus, I can tell you that the 5 was the better watch, apart from not having the maps. The battery was far better on the 5 and also the GPS accuracy. So far, the 6 is so much better than the 5+.

There's a good deal on the Forerunner235 today on amazon, its a 4 year old watch now and has, I think, been superseeded by the 245, but its the most accurate watch I've owned. The newer watches use cheaper Sony GPS chips which aren't as accurate as they have traded accuracy for battery life. The Garmin forums are full of complaints.
Somehting like the 735XT is a good call for the price, also on offer today.
very useful info

Nope. I got the offer but the combination of the offer and the code. Basically they send you a code when they accept the offer.
