This is the one I was personally waiting for Previously lowest the 235 had been on Amazon was £199.99 according to camelcamelcamel, so I would have been happy with that again - but stonking reduction this time! Cheapest I've been able to find in other shops over the past month was @£220 after cashback.

I'll admit they're not for everyone - there are a huge range of fitness watches out there. But they are great at some things, especially at this price point. TomTom and Fitbit deals already posted too if you prefer those.

Forerunner 235 - This is a great pick though if you need wrist HR, inbuilt GPS, custom workouts, and waterproof enough for swimming.

Forerunner 35 - slightly lower spec (e.g. no custom workouts) for a ridiculous price!

All 3 colours available at the same price:

Black/grey
amazon.co.uk/Gar…-21

Black/red
amazon.co.uk/d/G…-21

Black/frost blue
amazon.co.uk/Gar…-21

And the Forerunner 35, all 4 colours:

I use this watch every day. I paid £220 last year and would happily buy the same again. At this price it's a great deal

Ah, that’s reassuring, thanks! I’ve been researching options for about a month, but was still a little worried I’d made the right choice – as the range of fitness watches is so big nowadays…

Always good to hear from a long time user and you did well to get that price a year ago!
Superb prices. Got the Forerunner 35 from Up and Running for £130 and thought that was a good price. Great running watch with smart watch capabilities!
Does this have a stop watch? I'm being serious, i have the 225 and its great for running, gps, battery, HR, all great but why on earth it can't have a basic stop watch is beyond me. To use it as a stop watch, you record an activity then delete it and then go onto strava to delete that and.... just a basic stop watch, surely a 150 quid sports watch can provide that...

Can be added as a feature to the 235 from Connect IQ (where lots of additional features/miniapps are available). Quick search suggests 225 can't add the apps from Connect IQ... Neither can the 35.

235 is a great watch. It even has a basic cycling mode if you don't want to go full-blown watch from what I've been told. It also looks great being round (and watch shaped!) and lasts weeks on a single charge.

EDIT: Oh actually, I misread that and thought it was £109.99 for the 235. Two Black Fridays back, they had the 220 with HR for £99.99 I think, this is a bit steep for their entry-level running watch if I'm honest. The 35 will probably be fine for most.

slightly of-topic but looking for a decent gamin bike option.
currently using my Gamin forerunner 110 but the battery is starting to become less & less
Good watch for the price. I have the 220 with the heart strap which I can never be bothered to wear. I wish I'd fine for this
Bought one at £215 (I think) to replace my Pebble Time Steel. I wear this everyday and is worth every penny.
Ordered the black/red thanks.
Got one of these at Xmas as a gift. It's fantastic! I wear it daily for running and the battery lasts over a week on one charge. Think my partner paid over £250 for it so highly recommended at this price. I used to use map my run on my iPhone which I thought was flawless until I discovered this. This device is so much better and less bulk to carry...
The heart rate monitor on this is rubbish, i know a few people from the running club with it, they have all bought heart straps for it! haha , it was funny looking at the heart rate data on strava.

Better off buying a 230 and strap.
The replacement for the 230/235 and 630 is due out in October.

thanks for the info.
So tempted but the wife would kill me so will have to stick with my TomTom Runner Cardio for now
Thanks for sharing the offer OP.
Question here for someone who has either done the research or used both devices.

I am a hobbyist runner (sign up for a half marathon every year and run circa 10-15k per week in 1-2 runs) and a gym user and am looking for a watch that can track both activities, i enjoy looking at my runs on Strava.

Will the 35 be enough of should i pay the extra and go for the 235?

I'm unlikely to use it for swimming

P.S. i prefer the look of the 235

thanks in advance

I have a 235 and primarily do heart rate training, apart from the occasional drift it's been pretty good. Not too different from the 225 which had a Mio sensor (not Garmin's Elevate sensor). I know multiple people with this watch, non of which have felt the need to buy a hr strap for it.
There's a very good comparison of HR reporting between the 235, and other options, including a chest strap, on DC Rainmaker site: dcrainmaker.com/201…tml

Based on that, I'm happy the HR capabilities of the 235 are suitable for my needs.

If you want a different solution, go for it. I still think it's a great price for the 235, if that's the one you want.

My heart rate data is usually spot on. It has the occasional wobble but then so do the ant+ chest straps.

The 235 would work for you.
Some alternatives:
Garmin Edge 20 / 25 as a dedicated GPS cycling computer.
Garmin Vivoactive (the version 1 will last for a month between recharges as a step counter and has an always-on screen)
Garmin Vivosmart HR+ (currently £119 on Amazon Prime Day deals)
Just about any other GPS watch
Is this deal on all day, or is there a quantity/time restriction? (35 and 235)

It might sell out, was going to buy the 8GB hard drive but that finished

This is likely to be far less popular however...

You can get it for £160 if you go to Amazon warehouse.

If you order now for nominated day delivery of next week sometime then you can buy yourself time to think about it. Can cancel order if you change your mind / better offer comes along.

Purchased one for me and the one for the Mrs. Good idea though.
Cheers OP! Been waiting for this to drop, didn't have prime but even signing up for 1 month makes this still cheaper than it's been! Nice replacement for Tom Tom that's served me well,
What colour have people gone for?
Is the deal over, I cant see a price of £174.99 for the 235?
Think it's finished - I had been looking for one for a while - now it just says view deal and £225 Really p!ssed off with that! Maybe it was limited stick - serves me right, should have put it in the basket right away...
Excellent running watch. I would not be without it.
Yep, looks like all sold out - it's now listed at a higher price (slightly higher than it was pre-Prime day!), and from a seller name I don't remember seeing before, so the Amazon stock must be gone.

Edit: 235 is sold out that is - Forerunner 35 still on Prime Day deal. £109.99, next cheapest I can find on other sites £149.99.
