Cheapest I have seen - odd pricing at Amazon as watch alone sells for £197!
missed out on the Forerunner 50 @ £29.99 (including HRM) so considering this..

Manufacturer's Description
Garmin is pleased to announce the new Forerunner 405 GPS-enabled sports watch. During a run, this slim, sleek watch accurately tracks distance, pace, heart rate (when paired with heart rate monitor) and calories, and displays it all on the easy-to-read screen. Tap or slide a finger around the innovative touch bezel to change information without fumbling for a button. The optional foot pod can also be used to gather speed and distance information indoors

ANT+Sport wireless technology automatically transfers workout data to and from your computer when your device is within range. No cables, no hook-ups, the data's just there. Users can upload data to Garmin Connect, a new web-based application that lets them analyze, share and store workouts. The Forerunner 405 will be offered in two different colours: green and black. Both colours have the same feature set

I think you can buy an ipod nano, a nike plus thingy and a cheap heart monitor watch for this price. Is there an advantage to having this one?

This is the latest GPS generation! It offers so much functionality and accuracy and is small!

The ipod nano + Nike is effectively a pedometer (so I believe - correct me if I'm wrong). Don't do this, it is a poor solution.

Hot deal

ok so I have a Polar AXN300 and a n96.

Polar for heart rate, altitude and temp.

Nokia N96 with the fitness program, why would I want one of these?

The only think I think is extreamlly cool is its menu, you have a sort os ipod wheel around it.

there are many reviews on t'web that say the controls to this thing are very awkward to use and not very user friendly.
my mate got one for xmas and its bloody big on the wrist.

i really wanted to like the idea of this, but glad i got a chance to see it first as it looks like its one of those items that says it does everything, but doesnt do enough of them effectively

There's nothing that even comes close as good as this.

You can download your route run onto a PC, google earth it etc etc
