All Garmin watches sync to Strava. You might want to look at one of the forerunner models for some more advanced running features.

Even a Vivoactive 3 is a good buy if you don’t need the advanced stuff. The Instinct has that nice rugged ‘G-Shock’ look though which might appeal to some.
This is more for hiking, I'd get the 245 or 645 for running which are similar prices. I have the 645 if you have any questions.

Yep, I have the Vivoactive 3 which has enough running features for me. Has vo2 max which I find useful but don't think Instinct has this.

VA3 also has downloadable watch faces, Garmin Pay and is cheaper.

This is a great watch if you aren't interested in touch screen features etc. Many of the other garmin watches are plastic looking things with obnoxious screens full of garbage.

This does exactly what the others do with a few more sophisticated features like the hiking compass tracker etc.

At this value it's got much more selling points than the others but you don't need to spend this much just to track your run.
Tbh if just for running if you aren't getting a forerunner you'll probably do just as well with a bip. I used one for the last 8 months for running, if all you need is a GPS tracker then it's fine. I upgraded to the garmin to get extras like specific running screens that aren't available on the instinct as it can't use the connect iq store for customisation.

There is a good review here:

Yes, that's why I mentioned it, the Vivoactive 3 (and Music) is enough watch for 90% of people and has an amazing feature-set for the money. The design is a bit plain though and it's not that tough - plus the touchscreen is a bit annoying as it's not a smooth interface like Apple or Samsung. I use the Fenix range and prefer the buttons for the UI.

You're right about VO2 Max but it's done by lookup tables anyway and some people don't think it's that much use.
