Just picked one up this morning for 115 on the bay. Been waiting for this to come down. Still feel 199 is overpriced for what is a fenix 5/vivoactive mash up.

You got a link for the £115?

I have it's www.dreamon.com

It was a private sale, sorry, not a deal otherwise I would have posted it.
Good price but the lack of multisport mode makes it closer to a Vivoactive than a Fenix. Rugged design may be appealing to some.

It’s what triathlete and duathletes (and others) typically use so you can chain sports together back-to-back in one activity with transitions between each of them.

Always bugs me that these companies withhold certain, very clearly software based, features from some of their devices.

Yes, but you have to understand why though. In order to sell the higher-end models they do need to reserve higher-end features for them. I’m honestly surprised the Vivoactive 3 can do as much as it can for a fraction the cost of the Fenix series.

That's not a good reason to me.

The ability to move from one discipline to another with the press of only one button, that being the lap button. So for example if you wanted to run straight after a bike ride (or any combo of sports you want really) then you press the lap key and the screen changes to your run profile. Just a lot easier and smoother than having to stop the bike ride, save it, select run and start again. Good for triathletes, or similar, who want the necessary data without too many distractions.

Nor anyone but it is for garmin. If you look at Huawei and garmin they're (were in Huawei's case) doing well because they have both mid range, budget and high end options. Apple only have high end hence their diminishing share price. So if the budget could do what the high end does no one would buy that high end. I doubt the manafacture costs are anything like the difference in prices.
