Did you post this as soon as the lighting deal started? If so took ages to get moderated. I was keeping an eye on hotukdeals to see how long it would take someone to post lol.
Ooohhh this is very nice indeed. Very tempted to purchase this, but do I need a new watch?

Yeah they’re all like that, this tactical one has some extra features, not sure how useful they are in the real world.

The ONE and ONLY difference is It's NVG (night vision goggles) compatible and only tactical colours are black and coyote brown. Other than that it's the exact same as the basic instinct (no pun intended). Very military specific purpose this Tactical model. Amazing price though.BZ

I thought the Garmin website also said the tactical has stealth mode, jumpmaster mode, projected waypoints, dual position format and night vision compatibility mode. Can the normal instinct do all those things (apart from night vision mode)?

The specs for the tactical says this (this section doesn’t appear for the non tactical version)

And in the general info it adds this part (I’m guessing these are the different features which are also mentioned on militarytimes.com review as being the extra functions)

That is correct, the normal one misses those 3 options. The cheaper one is not available in black but the additional functionalities may not be very useful for general use. I found the watch very nice and very much g shock like. It is not possible to change watch faces but the inbuilt faces are good enough. Strength training is a workout option but I found the tracking very poor. GPS is very good and acquires location quite fast. Battery drains pretty fast when GPS is used but still will manage a week under normal use.

I can see myself using all these features on a daily basis

The point was more @ConorMcGrath shouting ONE and ONLY feature, when clearly there is more than one feature different.
