So this in my local store not sure if it is nationwide

The person that served me said that these had only been put down in price this morning.

The cheapest online anywhere appears to be £155.00.

It's this one -

It was posted ]here yesterday.

I've got one of these, cost me £250ish and came with a traffic update thingy. Having used only TomTom's before, I'm much more impressed with this one! Cracking price!

Got one of these from my local Asda for £84.95

I've just got about got used to my TomTom One but I must say that I do prefer the mapping and feel of my old Garmin Streetpilot i3.

Garmin are better IMHO and i'm tempted to get one at this price.

None at the Asda in Milton Keynes

Cheers for that. That's saved me a job!

How did u get it for £85 my local store says its £99.

Thanks for this - rep and heat added. I've just bought one and am going to sell my old Garmin i3 Streetpilot, which I really like, but wanted a touch screen one.

There was only two in stock in my local Asda by the way and the Tom Tom one in another post was £179.99.

None in Broadstairs ASDA...

:-( no ones heard of it in wycombe (which is a massive store)

I've been looking for a GPS to use whilst travelling on foot around unfamiliar cities. The Garmin website says: "Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery makes it convenient for navigation by car or foot.". Has anybody actually tried using one that way, is it any good?

Thanks

Stompa

Bought one in Asda cribbs, bristol

Great find this beats a tom tom any day and is the far better buy of the two units!

I just called them up and asked if they stocked the nuvi 300 was told it had been reduced from £179 to £84.95

champion , dashed down and got it

i will sell it on though as i already have a tom tom

should get at least £135

:-D  Great, just what i was looking for, i phoned Asda and have had one saved for collection, price being £98.99:giggle:

This is brilliant satnav, its a Which? best buy. My father has this model and its excellent. 3 months of free speed camera alerts included too, just register online. He paid £244 only 5 months ago as his has the traffic master add on and european mapping, but otherwise its identical. Got my local Asda checking there warehouse as I type, must get one!!

There is a pedestrian mode which works fine, the only slight downside is that the antenna is on a fold-out flap at the back of the unit which is not ideal. The advantage of the NUVI over the Tomtom ONE is that the battery lasts twice as long.

I just bought the last 2 from Southport (sorry Sandgrounders). They are not being advertised as a Special Offer - the shelf ticket is still green & says 'New Lower Price' - reduced from £166. So maybe they will keep being restocked.

I've been having a play and love my new Nuvi already and I've just done it in the house! It seems really sensitive as I went out in the garden and walked about and the little car (I really like this instead of the normal arrow!) moved around a lot. It's nice and flat and literally the size of a pack of cards and really light too, so would be fine for walking around as it would fit neatly into a pocket. Going to use it on my way to work tomorrow and try it out - also travelling to Rainhill tomorrow and have no idea where that is, so there's a test for it. She has the same lovely voice as my old Streetpilot i3 too, so there's a bonus. I love that you can play MP3s and I've also loaded a pic of my daughter on the splash screen...well worth searching the Asdas for in my opinion!

Hi,

I already have the streetpilot i3 - which is quite good. But I would like one with a touch screen.

However I am really intrested in the pedestrian mode as I am in Europe alot with work and I like to go for walks at night. Does this have European maps?

hey hey add me to te list i got last one in my area hot hot hot.

Dammit my Garmin GPS cost me £450 about five years ago, it's got a small crappy black and white screen and makes lots of mistakes. These modern ones are so much better and in colour - larger screen and a hell of a lot cheaper...I should really upgrade...

They have em at my local I've asked them to put one to one-side for me, lets hope its still there when I finish work (she said it scanned at £98.99) !!!!!!!!

I've tried Ipswich, Colchester & two Chelmsford stores and none in stock anywhere.

I also asked about the TomTom1 and they dont have those in stock either!

It was quite funny though as at one store I heard someone say in the background: "why do people keep ringing up about those today"!

can anyone provide the sku number please

do these have uk maps only? i'm looking to buy a gps unit for handheld use in south america.... can you download new maps for this or does anybody have any recommendations?

andyroo, your going to pay a small fortune for a sat nav with south america on it. your best bet would be to buy a tom tom or garmin and buy the maps for south america online for it

None in stock at Great Bridge, Darlaston, Tipton or Oldbury.

Just bought two of these from ASDA Skelmersdale - superb - will keep one and sell other on EBAY - they said they have loads left in storage

Collected mine at Shipley branch - rep added - Cheers.....

They have many left in Shipley? [i take it u mean Bradford]

Dont suppose any kind soul could pick one of these up for me and i will pay postage and the cost of a pint:)Really lookin to get one only no stores in Northern ireland seem to have any.....only evesham/navman models:(

TEL.

Bought the last one @ Watford today.

After racing to my Asda last nice in the hope of a Tom Tom (and them not having any) I returned home and then kicked myself when I read this post as I had seen the garmin on the shelf and not given it a second thought!
Went back first thing and it was still there so grabbed it quick.
Updated it using the web updater (they even have a mac version! Hooray!)
and it works brilliantly. Really nice piece of kit and ever so small.
Got a lock straight away and didn't fail on a trip up to the North Norfolk coast.
Really pleased with it - thanks OP!

SKU number is: 5 013742 107079

Many thanks to the OP,I hope this will lead to a more peaceful life in the car for me and wife. Was a struggle but picked up Nuvi in Sutton.Last one I believe.

This is true nuvi 300 commitment lol
