great price, heat!

This deserves front page recognition, really hot!

HOT! If I wasn't too mean to swap my old pda+tomtom set-up I'd go for this.

Heat added, I have this exact sat-nav and can confirm its great

I have one of these and paid £149.00 for mine a year and a half ago. Never had any problems with it.
Good price heat added

Not very clear on website what exactly comes with this. Could someoen clarify if speed camara database is a free trial for a time limited period, also what about TMC?

Just did some further checking and unfortunately it is not the 310T. So no TMC.

does it have an sd card so you can load different maps etc at your leasure ??

How would you compare this to a TOMTOM One?

I just want an easy to use sat-nav, not looking for any special features such as MP3 Player, bluetooth etc. Which one is better for being a sat-nav?

Been keeping an eye out for a good resonably priced sat-nav for a long time now. Looks to be the one for me, ordered.

heat & rep added.;-)

This is an absolute bargain. My partner bought this for me (overpriced I know) for £260 the Christmas before last (I saw it for £220 at it's cheapest). I still use it regularly today as it's wonderful. I would buy it for £120-£150 even now as it's that good. The Bluetooth does an excellent job, although the person calling you can get a bit of echo if the volume is set too high in the vehicle, which it can be when on motorways, but this is a small point on a very, very useful feature. I have loaned this satnav to friends who have gone out and bought one after using it. I'm not going to get in to a Garmin vs TomTom argument, except to say that the most respected and well reviewed units on sale at the time of purchase seemed to favour the Garmin model, but things may have changed now so do you research, however you wont be disappointed.

It has an SD card slot, but you load different maps by connecting the unit via a USB Cable to your PC and using the special software to load new map "segments". This is a Garmin maps update and was offered free to me to download for one new version only. I must admit, it's a bit quirky and could be a lot smoother updating the unit but as it's not done too often, the work is worth it in the end. You get 3 months of Garmin safety camera updates which are excellent and kept up to date. I have used other camera updates from other sites, and they are not as comprehensive or as accurate. For instance, if I was travelling on a road that had a GATSO on the other side of the road which is irrelevant to me, the Garmin software would show it but not alert me to it, whereas the other camera downloads would.

Oh dear I seem to have gone on a bit, and could say a lot more but all I can say is if you haven't got a satnav unit and are thinking of buying one without breaking the bank, then buy it. It's not a cheapo unit, it's the real deal.

These are non-returnable (unless faulty I guess) Refurbs, notice it says "white box" at the bottom of the page.

The graphic/color scheme on the Garmins is not the best I would say. But it is great though not everything is easy to understand from a glance but as soon as you play with it little bit there are no problems at all.

Maybe you have to pay £50 more to get the traffic updates for free?! :-D
I can see the picture shows that it covers main land europe but is that the version that is included with this 310?

I'm gonna get one of these ebuyer.com/pro…328 and put Tomtom on it.

Don't be put off by the white box. I recently bought a Garmin Zumo "white box" and it is NEW. The box actually is blue and is an official Garmin product. A colleague also has a good "white box" experience!!
When I got my 310 2 years ago I paid a hundred pounds more! , it's been in daily use since then and works just great. As said the bluetooth isn't the best, but adequate. Cant comment on the MP3 player as I've never used it. Certainly no good using the speaker but may be ok using earplugs.
When purchased it came with UK only maps, I was eligeble for a free map upgrade and got full euro coverage which you can load onto an sd card and use.

Edit: MNC group have been around a long time, but I have never used them.

Anybody tell me what i'm doing wrong, click on go to deal, it opens page then click on MNC special offers and says choose option from pull down, the cheapest option is £122.50 not £82.98 is there something i'm missing.

All you need to do is scroll down and click add to basket, it's already selected, option 1.

great deal, ordered one.

The 310T will have a GTM (GTM-12 I think with the Nuvi 300s) bundled with it - which means free lifetime traffic alerts via TMC.

And for all the TMC naysayers, I'd have to say that whilst not perfect, TMC can be useful, and reception does seem to have improved in recent times.

Recieved this yesterday, quick delivery very happy with it. Speed camera info needs downloading and is free for 1 month, if you wish to continue to get updates it costs £29.99 for 12 months subscription.
The map will take a little getting used to as I've used TomTom for years, but definitely gives more information than I'm used to on my old TomTom One, such as names the road I'm approaching. Not quite as easy to attatch on and off the window suction piece but once on, very neat. I think I might get converted to Garmin, but only a month or so real use will allow me to be certain.
Setting up the Bluetooth was easy, and as part of the pairing it downloaded my address book into the Garmin, very handy and even if I ever forget my mobile I at least now have all my important phone numbers with me, so as long as I can borrow a phone I'm sorted and the Bluetooth part works very well. Having used it for a few day's now I definiely prefer it to TomTom which has surprised me, of course I was only using a TomTom one and an old one so not an entirely fair comparison but I have borrowed for one of journey's more up to date TomToms and still IMHO this is a much better unit. One thing that was better about my old TT it was louder on full volume.

Ok been delighted with this unit until today. Today it died. Now I'll find out how good this company are when it get's problems.

Got mine a few days ago, fine apart from them accepting a different delivery address but only despatching to the card address.

Speed camera updates can be had cheaper from pocketgpsworld.com - £19 for a year.

price seems to have gone down to £74.99 ?? Anyone know if you are eligible for free map updates as this unit is fairly old now and hence the maps will also be old.

Also, does this unit keep your most recent destinations like on all the Tom Toms? Some of the Garmins at least, dont do this, and its annoying going through all the postcode/address menus each time you want to go to the same address!

You should either get the current, latest (NT 2008) maps, or qualify for them, if this is a normal, retail purchase.

I've had 3 Garmins, and used several TomToms (as well as others), all the Garmin units have (as have TomTom).
