That's a lot for a light!
I can't ride without this radar anymore; brilliant piece of kit.

It tells you when vehicles are approaching from behind and displays the information on your head unit. It adds to your overall situational awareness but is clearly not a replacement for the mark one eyeball and your blind spot checks. You can't put a price on cycling safety with so many idiots on the road.

I usually ride with this and the Cycliq rear camera but if I have to attach my saddle bag (for a long ride or sportive) then I'll sacrifice the camera and keep the radar on.

It has a radar in it. Not just a light. Regularly reviewed as one of the best additions you can make to your bike for safety.
Good deal and price. I'm personally waiting to see if Wahoo bring one out otherwise I'd buy. Hot though

Wahoo have added compatibility for it recently. blog.wahoofitness.com/ele…rt/
I feel naked without mine. Essential and hot.
In London there's someone behind your all the time. This would run out of battery in five minutes!
Same price at Halfords. Perhaps add the BC 10% off on this?
Love mine. Recommended.

Not much for a radar though
Halfords will hopefully price match so I can use my 10% BC discount
Great if you are deaf.
Or blind

I'm not convinced

I’m not convinced either but struggling to find a negative review
Most people say useless for town. So useless for me. But it's probably very clever
Interesting device but there's an art in looking over your shoulder using your peripheral vision. I'm very fortunate to be able to do this easily with confidence but I understand some people really struggle with it of whom a device like thsi may be quite useful. I can't help but wonder if it would be a bit of a distraction for many of us.

Can you show me a cheaper one?
I thought many cyclists were oblivious to red lights through my experience in London !!!!
Is this just the light unit (ie. no display)?
A steal at this price. Obviously depends on where you ride as to how much use you'll find it. I do a lot of riding on country roads and it gives you a nice heads up when someone comes up behind you. Really useful at speed when you can't hear much because of wind noise. The light is nice and bright as well, you can set it to change it's pattern to something a bit more obvious when it detects a car. You still want to look over your shoulder though just to be safe. I've had this and the earlier version, works really well, when it says there is a vehicle there it has been right 100% for me

This is in addition to your usual checks over your shoulder, you can't do that all the time especially on a road bike where you're vulnerable to road conditions and also it's more difficult to hear vehicles with the rush of air going past. The radar is always watching up to around 150 metres and on top of that it also tells you how many vehicles there are and how fast they're coming up. It also works if you're within a group of other cyclists as it ignores the cyclists moving at your pace and can still pick up vehicles approaching the group.

On a busy road it will be a distraction but I would think similar to most people I spend as little as possible on busy roads and mostly on quieter roads where you may not see a car for hours or you may see quite a few in a short period of time.

I've had the original 500 unit since launch and don't ride my road bike without it.

That's correct, it's still £251 to get the radar light and dedicated display unit. This works with most Garmin head units and some other third party ones now which I think make more sense as I suspect most people out road cycling are likely to have a cycle computer.

I'll stick to my Cycliq 6 CE...I think that's a better use of the space so you have evidence of any bad drivers you may encounter. That and I'd rather just look over my shoulder. Good price though, have some heat.
I use a mirror, what am I missing? Beyond "coolness"

I thought many motorists were oblivious to bikes...then I realised being tribal and divisive was pointless.

You could. But does it beep if there is a car behind?

Fair point, I guess the failing of a mirror is it's reactive rather than protective. Carry on 😁

Indeed. I think mirrors are fine btw. The whole uncool thing is uncool.
Dam I was going to buy till i realised I'd need computer to go with it. Seems like a good safety feature but £250 with the head unit. It would need a magneto forcefield for me to buy. The hovding airbag helmet is probably more safety for buck.
