Difference between Vector 2 and Vector 2S is what? 2S seem cheaper but can't find anything too definitive.

2S is a single-sided measurement
Good deal. When decent power meters get down under £200 then we'll talk though
Power is great for training on the turbo. Not convinced when out on the road myself.

How so?
Perfect pacing tool when riding solo. I guess it isn't so good when riding in a group as you'll just be at the pace of the group anyway.

Really good especially to make sure you don't push too hard in longer events and to judge improvement.

I guess the VO2 Max intervals etc aren't great to do outdoors but threshold, over under and sweetspot are ideal for outdoors.
Great for pacing a TT aswell. Stick to a number and if you feel good near the end go smash jt

Oh, and then there are all the different ways of measuring training stress, form, fatigue etc etc. (TSS CTL)

Pedalling analysis with Vectors is amazing.

Wow. 999 on wiggle. So tempted by this
I have been told the reason these are so cheap compared to everywhere else is they are OEM units and possibly faulty returns which were fixed by Garmin, apparently they come with no warranty but I don't know if this is true.

I find it impossible to do intervals outside. Much easier on a turbo.

As for tracking power, I tend to focus on the road and where I'm going rather than looking at my Garmin. Going for a Strava segment, all done on feel.

I can see the benefit for TTs though. I'm too much of a wimp for those.
I'm going to try a price match
Neither wiggle nor Evans match against canyon

However, we can’t catch them all and these are only limited to the list in the link below:

As a result, while we’re sure this is an interesting price, we can’t offer a price match as this competitor doesn’t meet the terms and conditions.

You dug up a week old thread for that gem of a comment, why? Can someone expire this thread so sailo can stop wondering pointless thoughts out loud.

Do you say the same thing everytime someone posts a deal for a £700 smartphone?

Best to ignore. Surprise it took so long for the rabble to arrive.
Whether this is good deal or not, when it comes to anything which is yes, expensive, but a genuine good deal, you always gets idiots like this with their inane mutterings. Pathetic really.

Good for the money though they aren't the best reviewed. The pods are very fragile apparently.

This was true for the first generation, these are the 2nd generation and they don't have this problem. There is a rumor that the Vector 3 pedals will be podless... ;-)

Far from upset. I PMSL when knob end trolls such as yourself cant resist posting something you know nothing about and the fact that you think it winds us up.
Garmin have dropped the retail price of these down to 899, so discounts will go as deep at this deal or lower from now on I'd imagine.

http://www.triathlonbusiness.com/2016/industry-news/garmin-vector-offers-power-to-the-people-with-price-drop/

Looking at Stages myself, they review great for a single sided meter.
While checking the Halfords discount T&Cs on the BC website earlier I noticed there is a 20% off Verve InfoCrank sets, meaning the original £1,149 price comes down to £919.20. No idea how long that's been on there though.

OK, that's a good bit more than these Vectors but you're getting Praxis crank, BB & chainrings instead of just a pair of pedals. If you were looking to replace them anyway then it becomes much more competitive.

It also seems to come with a much better reliability record than the Garmin pedals, and they appear to be innovating with things like removing the dependency on magnets via a firmware update.

I'm not in the market now but would seriously consider this if I was. Only major downside is it's obviously only a single bike solution.
