I've been monitoring the prices of this watch for the last week. The H Samuel deal has expired and is out of stock.

Although not a great deal as such, this is the best price I can see with availability at this moment in time and has come down £20 since yesterday.

Any reason to get this over the Vivoactive 4?

The Amoled screen. Otherwise exactly the same.

That's what I thought. It's a good price for this model, but I'd definitely save the money and get a VA4 then.

Personally I'm waiting for a sub 270 price for the slate grey model and then I will buy.

Agreed. The AMOLED screen may look nice but longer battery life is more important feature in the long term.
I'm really hoping the Vivoactive 4s will have some sort of offer on come Black Friday!

I got the Venu from the H Samuel offer and can't recommend it enough. I've had it now for 5 days and still have 25% battery left. I've been using it heavily from a fitness pov and receiving plenty of notifications too. I won't let concerns about battery life stop you from getting Venu to be honest

Could you demonstrate as don't see the Garmin Venu Slate Grey in the watch section?

Yes I have seen that, but if you follow the link through to Amazon, the Garmin Venu Slate Grey is not included in the watch category on Amazon. Granted there is the Gold face model and the Rose gold model, however it is £307 + £9 delivery which works out at £284. That is a good deal for that model but very specific and only 1 left in stock which would always worry me.

Without an always-on display I'm guessing. Don't get me wrong, the Venu looks lovely and is a great watch but even with the low power always-on face, it's only 2 - 3 days battery. I'd plump for the Vivoactive 4 myself.

My reasoning for wanting the Venu is that I want to have a nice looking watch first and fitness tracking second, I also have a job where I could charge on a daily basis with no issues.

Yes but the wake up gesture works really well so I see no need to have the display on constantly. I do have it on when I'm working out as I like to monitor my progress and have completed 4 hour long sessions in that time (the HRM on it is spot on too). I think battery life in excess of 4-5 days is pointless anyway unless you are planning a week-long survival mission in the wilderness. Purely on the basis of the display, I think the Venu is a better choice than the the Vivoactive 4 as long as you don't pay over the odds for it.

Hi does anyone know how to improve the display on this vivoactive? Mine arrived yesterday and it just seems dull coming from a Versa.

This isn't a Vivoactive, it's a Venu. The Venu has an AMOLED screen which is better than the screens on the vivoactives.
It's me I got all my devices muddled up! I've just sent the Vivoactive back as I didn't like the displayed compared to the Versa
