So I finally got the wife away from apple & her beloved iPhone 8.

She now has a huawei p20 Pro via my Saturday o2 refresh deal, which she is delighted with BUT she needs a decent smart watch, not too big, good battery life, Spotify music storage & good gps tracking capabilities.

Came across this latest & new model from Garmin with 7 days battery life, Spotify, garmin pay & not too big in the S version.

This is the new Garmin Vívoactive 4S, with 20% off via H Samuel offer using the code EARLYBIRD thanks & credit to @MiniMissyMoo for the 20% off post

Slate (Gunmetal grey) version at same price too.
Looks like a site-wide code. Hope they don't decide it doesn't apply to new models and cancel it! The Venu shows as Out of Stock.

Ordered one of each colour, we've been waiting ages to get something like this. Thanks!
Shame that Venu is out of stock, or I would grab a pair immediately!
Thanks for the credit op. I actually checked Garmins etc were included myself before posting but my lovely daughter has passed on her lurgy so it was too much for me to compare prices, copy and save photos and post individual links etc.

same wonder if it'll come back for preorder
Quite a lot of reports saying the battery life is pretty shocking (check the Garmin forums). Hopefully a software update will sort it out.
Just to warn you guys Huawei doesn't pair with Garmin devices for running data. Have a mate 20 pro but no probs with my various garmin devices and Samsung devices

Mine is running fine with a honor 20 and garmin watch and has been for the 20 or so garmin devices I've had in the last year....
Really? mine connects but none of the data transfers to the garmin app. Drives me nuts. Tried emailing Garmin who says it is up to Huawei and no response from Huawei. Try googling it and I think it was a v common problem. Obv Honor 20 is newer. I'm specifically talking about running/ excercise data not answering calls from bluetooth/ text message alerts etc

Don't have a fenix 5 (v nice btw!) but I literally have to drag and drop the files to get anything onto my apps via computer and even then misses lots of the data (get the basics like route, av pace etc). What other garmin devices do you have?
Could you also tell me how your wife gets on with the vivo 4s please?

I only use for mountain biking, gym & running... So don't tax it too much. Works fine tho & battery life is top notch
Thanks!!!

I can't say I'm doing anything different from you but might a full reset of your phone be the answer. If you don't want to to that I would understand! Certainly Huawei devices used to be an issue. Is the software on your watch fully up to date. If you've only ever connected the watch through your phone to garmin then it sounds as though you won't have any updates on it. I would plug it into a computer download garmin express and update from there. You've probably already done this but thought I'd say in case you hadn't.
Sadly done all of that and no joy. Not going to hard reset the phone again (absolute pain)

Try this: remove device from garmin connect and hard reset the watch. When you go to pair it again don't let it do it automatically. When it tries press cancel and then a screen with all the devices garmin have should come up and select it from there (you might have to press a 'browse all devices' blue button). I did this with someone who couldn't even connect to GC with a fenix 3. Worth a shot.

Finally check you battery settings on your phone. Go to settings>battery>apps and manage garmin connect manually.

And one more thing when you press the picture of the watch in the top right of the screen in garmin connect does it say link device. I actually don't know what this does but the connection does seem much better once I've done this and sometimes with a new device I have to select this a few times before the message goes away and I assume its 'linked'.

Also check its not paired on your phones Bluetooth settings before you start.
Order was just cancelled
Extra disappointed then. Ordered on the weekend way before they showed as out if stock

Hi, it arrived today. Gave it a quick charge & got her to download the garmin connect app onto her Huawei p20 Pro.

Within minutes all linked together & working perfectly.

No issues & she's delighted... So I'm in the good books (for a while )
Got mine in the end, called and they sent a from store to store for collection

I've just sent the vivoactive 4 back... Only two and a half days of battery life... You're supposed to get up to 8hrs...i wouldn't expect 8 but I would expect more than 2 and a half... I don't know which watch to get now as my versa is rubbish and has been replaced so many times.

Interested In this watch, anyone help me find the best price currently?

There's a 15% code that brings it to £220.99 at H Samuel, that's about the best I can see at the moment

Cheers!

Can you post the 15% off please? There's a black vivoactive 4s on ebay with about 15 hours left currently at 62 quid?? I imagine it will go for less than 200. Cex has one for 200 on the nose, free delivery, 24 months warranty. If you look on ebay for Cex vouchers you can get them for less than face value thus reducing the price accordingly.
