Great price for this, I have one and wear it every day.

Believe this deal may be for prime members only but I am sure it will benefit some of us!

Some blurb from Amazon:
Run, bike, swim, golf, ski and more with Garmin vivoactive HR, the GPS smartwatch with Elevate wrist heart rate technology. Outside of your more active moments, its built-in activity tracker counts steps throughout the day and measures calories burned. The sunlight-readable, high resolution touchscreen features smart notifications such as call, text, email, social media alerts and more.

I mainly use it for cycling but also to track my steps and HR each day.

Seems a good price and it is probably worth joining prime and cancelling after 1 month to get the price. also other deals will probably be prime only on black Friday so not wasted.

Heat from me

Of course anyone who hasn't already had a free trial can sign up for free anyhow.

Not a prime only deal. Very few deals of the day are prime only.

A lot of the lightning deals have an early access period of 30 minutes for prime members but are open to all after that, provided stock is remains available.

That's Good then... I've always stayed clear of the Prime Stuff probably because of the Adverse Publicity... recurring payments etc...but if you can cancel etc...and of course you don't have jump through hoops backwards...might think about that...thanks!

Incidentally I have the Garmin 35 but...dare I say it the new vivoactive 300 or something is out and that really is a superb bit of kit...its similar to 935 or the Fenix at £200 less and you CAN use it to PAY...

How is that relevant...

If you're buying for running then it's worth knowing that the Vivoactive watches don't support 'custom workouts' or 'training plans' uploadable from the excellent Garmin connect. IMO these (assuming you're a runner) are one of the main things that the Garmin watches have going for them.

Forerunner 230/235 aren't much more.

Still a hot deal though, if you want one.

Just some facts.

1. It's called a Vivoactive 3.
2. Not similar to Fenix other than it's round and made by Garmin.
3. While it does have Garmin Pay, it's not scheduled to be in the UK till 2018.....maybe.
4. It's £280. So not really of any relevance to this deal.

It sounds a loud alarm to remind you when you're asleep.

My dad is a triathlete and currently has an older model of the forerunner (he got it around 2013, not sure exactly what the model number is). I’m looking to get him a new one for christmas, is this a suitable upgrade?

Personally for a triathlon watch, I would be looking at the Garmin Forerunner 735xt. Unfortunately it's not cheap.

This is a very good price. Heat

Good watch. The wife used this model for running (around 80 miles per week) before going to the 235. Last month the touch screen stopped working. Garmin replaced it even though it was 15 months old. So good watch and top service from Garmin

Tempted as my Microsoft band 2 has a split strap. As I mostly cycle will this save routes as maps and log distances on a calendar

I want to buy this as a bit of a cross training watch, bit of running, cycling, gym work. Is it good for keeping an accurate record? Calories lost etc?

In my opinion, yes. The garmin app is great and I also link it straight to strava

Think so, but as mentioned above, the garmin app is great and I link everything directly to strava. I think the garmin app saves stuff to a calendar.

Would you pick that over the fenix 3 HR? Genuinely asking as in looking into both.

I looked into both and I would go Fenix 3 HR all day.

Interesting comparison here:
garminfenix.com/gar…es/

The thing for me that stands out is the weight of the Fenix, being twice that of the 735xt. I wonder how that would feel on the wrist. I guess you would get used to it.

If you haven't come across it before, this is a useful site for tracking prices:
