@getharoon I've had the Vivoactive HR for a while but never used it to control/play music. There may be apps on the Garmin 'app' store Connect IQ apps.garmin.com, for controlling music playback but I don't think it has sufficient storage to store music on. Its battery life and waterproofedness are great. In my experience, it's more of an activity/sleep tracker but may have some media control apps available. It can be a bit quirky sometimes and requires restarts but is general well behaved. I've only used the Windows and iOS apps so can't comment on Android.
I just noticed in the product description on the Maplin site that it can "control features such as music"

P.S. Also, if you have health cover with your employer or elsewhere, it's worth checking to see if you can get corporate discounts. I got mine for half price direct from Garmin via that route.

I have had one since launch and can't recommend it highly enough. Used with S8+ and an iP8+ and no issues. It doesn't store music, but does have the option of controlling the music player on your phone.
Battery life for me is around 5 days average which compared to an Apple Watch I had previously is absolutely the way it should be. Fitness tracking is always perfect, and through Garmin Connect it syncs with Strava etc. Mines has been through allsorts and I've never once worried about breaking the screen or anything like that.
I am ready to give it to a friend, only because I am going to be going for the newer model from this otherwise I'd continue to wear it it daily.

I have the model below and it works great, looking to upgrade to this
wiggle.co.uk/gar…662

£164.99

Got mine £125 from Cex. Can't recommend the watch enough. If you use it to swim and need glasses for reading the font in quite small but i bought some prescription goggles to sort that,
Love mine. Had it 12 months, works seamlessly with Galaxy (I have S6+ Edge). Recent app revamp is very good too, as is their website. I like that you can read a whole text and a decent chunk of an email on it too.
Cold - I'm afraid. These were £119.99 last month (cue time machine jokes) and XL version is £159.99 now at Amazon hotukdeals.com/dea…995
I've got one of these. Its the best present that I never wanted and didn't think I'd use.
This is the top of the range with GPS and inbuilt heart rate tracker.
You can also download different apps and watch faces.
Its really designed for sports activity tracking (eg running, cycling, swimming, etc), so if you don't actually do much sports that you want to track, then maybe there are other products that would suit you better.

I use it for hiking and cycling - for which you can download GPX map files and it keeps you on track for the whole ride or walk...

I wear mine 7*24 to track my sleep, my day to day activity and also any special sports activities. If it broke, I'd buy another tomorrow - only issue for me is that it doesn't look too pretty.
Battery life is at least a full day of sports activity tracking using GPS or 5 days of normal use....
Bear in mind that there's a new (better looking) replacement out "Viviactive 3", which is much prettier for wearing as a watch.
I'd have no issue buying this if you're OK with the style, but the price may keep coming down as its now a discontinued model....
I got one of these for the wife a while back but at £130, plus wiggle currently selling it cheaper so cold for me.

The wife loves this watch though so I’d recommend it for anyone wanting a watch for activities, all day tracking and notifications/control of a smartphone. It doesnt store music though, no Garmin watches do, but then again I always recommend people don’t run with music as they will enjoy events/races more without it.

id also highly recommend the Fenix 3 (or the newer Fenix 5) but that’s a lot more money
£165 at Blacks / Millets 5% cashback £8.25 from quidco 2 days left on it
Halfords £164.99 3% cash back £4.94
Was getting one but saw reviews on cracked screens so gone for the basic but hopefully just as effective forerunner 35
At this price you might be better getting the vivoactive 3, which looks like a nicer watch to wear all day for me. Its around the £230 mark at the moment, but as its newer should receive updates for longer too.

Garmin will be announcing their new products at CES2018 in Vegas either Sunday or Monday so best to see what happens there. New models will send prices down further. They did post on their site before Christmas before taking it down a new model which includes music storage. That is expected to be the announcement.

The vivoactive 3 is the replacement for this and much better. Many reports of screens spontaneously cracking on these as well.
