This is a good price for a Garmin motorbike SatNav.

Comes with Western Europe lifetime maps.

Before anyone says what a high price this is, bike satnavs are expensive because:

They have very bright displays (use in bright sunlight)
They are waterproof
The touch screens can be used with gloves

This means that they're quite niche products and so quite a lot more expensive that car satnavs.

And then a mount and power source that can handle the vibration and exposure that satnavs are subjected to on a motorbike. By the time you've bought the phone, memory card and associated RAM mounts you'll be knocking on the door of what this costs. In addition the Garmin will be geared to generate routes that are "fun" or accept user generated gpx files as opposed to just fastest or shortest routes as it's designed for recreation rather than just function. The GUI will also be geared up to deal with big fat fingers as the users will have motorbike gloves on. If we were talking in car satnav I'd say smartphone everytime, but motorbikes is a different game.

Can't use it with gloves unless you get special touch screen gloves for motorbikes.

Screen probably is not bright enough in sunlight (I've tried using a smart phone & a car satnav in a waterproof mount - both were terrible).

bluetooth helmet and an android smartphone running Navmii. Job done.
