Seems like a cheap way of getting an annual boiler service.
Go via Quidco for £15 cashback.

£95 excess. perfect if your boiler is fairly new with no problems.

All boiler services are not the same. If you take this up - make sure they give your boiler a good clean out, and use a gas flue analyser. My hubby is a gas safe engineer. His average service takes around an hour to do thoroughly - a lot of these contracts they are out within 20 mins leaving all the dust still in the boiler (to cause future problems). They are more of a boiler check-up rather than a service. Also it says the boiler service is only free for the first year. I would imagine that you then have to pay for a boiler service with them to keep your policy valid. Just double check all this before you sign up

I pay £15 a month for total repair and call out

best thing I ever spent a few months back they had to rebuild the whole boiler to find a fault

I've worked as a sub contractor for homeserve on the home insurance side of things, and personally wouldn't go anywhere near them, corners cut ect, not to mention slow and non payments to the firm I was working for resulting in hardship for me and other workers.

Is there an age limit to the boiler to be able to get cover?

thanks for the advice got a boiler serviced booked for this afternoon & I shall not be moving an inch away from the engineer when he's servicing now that I know what to look out for x

So if you cancel after the 1st year you have had a free Boiler Service, Cover for 12 months and £15 Quidco cashback? Effectively all that for £9? Or is it subject to renewal after a year?

Idea is not to call them out for breakdowns. Just use it for the free service.

Not sure. I was only after an annual service since breakdowns are covered by my home emergency cover. For me this was the cheapest way of getting the annual service.

HomeServe Cover 8 is better value at £114 per year covering everything like pests and drains, with free boiler servicing and only £50 excess plus £100 quidco = £14.

oh ok i see. I used my halifax home emergency cover once but it was rubbish, the guy game and said a part needed replacing and would cost £150 including labour which i was happy with as the policy covers up 2 £250 a few days later i was told something else needed replacing and would cost £900. wwhat a rip off. anyway i never got back to them and somehow the leak stopped and i managed to take out a proper cover. was very lucky in the end.

I know a few people who have worked for the Homeserve call centre in Preston and after what i've heard i wouldn't have the insurance if it was free.

I saw this offer a few months back and I asked quidco if their cashback included the free boiler service option as homeserve cover 8 has 2 options, with & without the free service. Quidco said you only get £100 cashback if you opt for the No free service.

It will not be a proper service guaranteed it will be just a quick look and brush. I have Corgi homeplan i pay £12 99 per month. Or £16 99 per month if you want an annu service. We have been with them for nearly 4 years we have called them out many times and eacjh time problem sorted.

I went through quidco and didn't see the boiler service part

Do not trust these cowboys.

Go to quidco.com/hom…ve/ and should be on the left hand side:

I would check with Quidco as you may find this will be the same for all of these policies

Yes got that thanks, but when you go through quidco there is no boiler service on the homeserve page included in this price. If you go direct to the homeserve page then you DO see the boiler service option.

If you follow the link from Quido, there is a note which says:
Please Note: This policy does not include a boiler service. If you would like to take advantage of our free boiler service offer please click here.
I clicked that linked. I can see it has been tracked in my Quidco account but there is no amount. Not too bothered if they don't payout since I think £24 is a good deal for a boiler service.

There is no Quidco cashback on the deals that include the free boiler service. I nearly ordered the Cover 8 plan thinking this but decided to ask Quidco support to double check, she said it was only for the plans without the free boiler service.

Thanks for the tip

Everyone says avoid this, or avoid that, but i never see people recommending which service to go with for boiler service and cover. I've had my boiler for 4 years now and avoided going with anyone due to the terrible reviews. I have 5 year guarantee, so I'll need cover soon when it runs out. Is there anyone who actually does a decent job for service and cover? Local Gas Man does a thorough service for £50, is that a decent price?

£50 is a good price as the normal price is about £75 (at least that's how much they charge in my area). Just make sure the Engineer is qualified.
