I'm not saying that this camera will compete with £1000+ DSLR or even a £100 Fuji Bridge camera but I was certainly surprised by the quality of the GE. So, if you want a cheap Bridge Camera this is certainly worth giving a try.
I know no compact can do them properly and reliably (without messing around basically hacking it in).
a first time shopper can get £5 off using TDX-DV73
Hot............. (well it will do anyway)
probably so but i don't see many if any complaints on the reviews of "poor battery life"...just take plenty or get rechargeables.

can you expand on why it is awful as I'm tempted by this.
EDIT - just noticed a review on Tesco which says it does not have a seperate viewfinder....
the pictures on the first page show the rear of the camera

Really?
Find me a better specced and performing camera for £40 then please?
It has it's limits, obviously, but regardless of those, this is good for £40. Thats pretty much what the review on the previous page says, and I'd agree with it.
Although the price is very low, I'd still find it hard to recommend one of these. That said I'm not sure where you'd find a better camera for £40.
To the person who was asking about Bokeh - forget it. These bridge cameras have very small sensors and fairly poor maximum apertures which makes that look very hard to achieve.
" I paid £25 for the two"...wow, now that's what this site is all about...people getting bargains, very well done indeed.

I would not normally buy a camera that takes ordinary batteries but at this price well !!!
