Don't know if I should recommend this from IZGeek, as it is half the price, I am still waiting for my order placed on 14th Oct. It seems was posted a while ago, but the tracking info is in Chinese language so have no clue if my order is anywhere close to the UK. USD 2.94, (USD 5.71 for 2 pieces, paid £4.13 with paypal), including delivery, with coupon OFF1ST. 7-15 days shipping. Cheers, ordered at this price its worth a punt.

I bought one a bit like this off eBay - Samsung branded (might even be Samsung!), complete with USB cable - the whole package was the price of a USB cable (£2,50). I bought a proper QI charger for £25 at the same time. The proper charger works perfectly. The cheap charger works OK - in fact sufficiently OK that I bought another (if only for the cable!). Sometimes I have to unplug it to "reboot it" for it to work. I have to take the protective case off my S9 for it to charge reliably. You get what you pay for. My £25 charger is as good value as the 2 £2.50 chargers.

I have a wireless charger in my BMW which acts as an extra antenna as well, it worked great for a year until July when I upgraded from an S7 Edge to an S9+. Found the phone is too big for the caddy so short of hacking it, I've got to go back to plugging it in. Pretty peeved about that, but probably would've felt worse had I paid for it (the option costs about £200. I think the new 3 series has changed the design but I won't be getting a new car for a long while yet!

Can you be more specific please? Fake iphone cables ya de yaaa Apple Crapple whatever! Personally hate Apple stuff anyway, but that's off topic. Do Apple even make a QI charger lol!!! I've been using a cheap QI charger on my desk at work for the last 12 months or so, cost about £4 with my Samsung phone. I would say my phone battery is perfectly fine. It also trickle charges (as inductive chargers tend to be less efficient as high powered cable connected chargers). This suits me fine. Love the flexibility that I can just pick up the phone when it rings and walk off without any cables tying me up etc or having to unplug. Once you've had one, there's no going back.

Hah!! Like it.

For £400 though not including delivery

I don't think that is necessarily true, me and a friend already have the Youth Edition which came from china without any customs charges, the build quality is great I have no complaints with it at all. I think the European version just comes with spare tyres but I've got slime in mine and have never had a problem. The only thing I am not happy about is battery size on the Youth Edition is 2/3 the size of the normal M365 which is why I bought another.

You will likely get hit with pretty significant customs/import taxes though, plus the Chinese models are inferior to the EU version (only one fuse, no power adapter, no spare tires etc...) It's why I paid more for the EU version, personally.

Well you were luck I didn't get to see that deal £237 at this price but good catch :) personally I would go for xiaomi product as you said firmware update and realibilty is proven. And it was cheaper on top of that you got free set of tyres with eu version. Hopefully next time I'll catch from that or similar price too thanks anyways m8.

It was yesterday afternoon - there was a deal on here posted for the European version for £285 and when I put it in my basket it reduced to £237. I think it as a flash deal that was only available for about 1 hour but it was only actually advertised at the reduced price for about 15 minutes. The post got updated and a few people bought it at £237. The alfawise @ £245 is almost as good I would say, just my concern about the firmware upgrade etc. There probably is a way of doing it, it's just not clear to me how.

From what I've been reading it seems most prefer the android stock version

Times have changed. The global version of this phone takes ota fine and there's no malware present

Would avoid buying Xiaomi from gearbest. Bought redmi note 2 back in the day it was full of Chinese malware and locked down so wouldn't upgrade over the air.

A2 is verbatim android, means no miui. Note 6 has miui10 which is the latest version of the miui system

Totally. The A2 lite, despite having weaker processor has advantages such as sd slot which A2 doesn't. It would be ideal if these 2 phones were combined somehow but Xiaomi confuse everyone with mixed spec and market differences

Yeah, it's a flaming nightmare trying to buy a phone these days😳 :| so much choice.

It has so much going for it but I worry about the large notch which means theres no notifications displayed on the status bar. The Huawei has a much more palatable notch and while not p20 Pro levels, the reviews I've seen say the camera is still excellent in its own right. My head is fried trying to decide haha

Indeed it does, still a great price without it I guess

Surely the outside temperature is unimportant? It's the inside temperature that matters and most homes will have thermostats to regulate that. I just don't see the need for such a device, I'll take one of John's Weather Forecasting Stones!

So there's a Mac version, you just need firmware update.

For people who don't have windows

The average Joe would want an outdoor sensor if it was part of a weather station linked into his heating system. Said heating system then reacts to the weather conditions directly outside said average Joe's house. I speak as just such an average Joe. (Who has no need for this gizmo ...)

you pay gearbest to pay back if you get caught you dont intend to pay and neither do they

But you're not dodging tax... You pay insurance so litb pays instead of you. If you need a warranty fair enough. But not way would I pay over £200 just for that

This is the best laptop I had so far. Never experience any throttling, and fan stay relatively quiet for most time. But I wouldn't advise anyone to buy from here though as Xiaomi's quality control is known to be questionable at best. Without valid warranty, you're basically gambling your money here.

Wouldn't order something as expensive from gearbeat or aliexpress. It's a matter of warranty in case it needs return or whatever happens you're dealing with someone at the other side of the globe which could be pricey and consume significant amount of time. I had issues with phones from gearbeat previously so a laptop is a no go despite the fact I was really tempted previously by xiaomi book. It's the MacBook for poor lol. However as per product I would now rather go for Huawei ultrabook rather than xiaomi.

ofc and without warranty not sure which is worse, dodging tax or paying as too afraid to get caught dodging it
