Aqara Smart Wireless Switch £4.49 @ Gearbest

Aqara Smart Wireless Switch just £4.49 from gearbest

Thanks but I already have 6x yeelight rgb. Any ideas about those?

Yes you need a hub. You can use a cheap dimmer switch from ikea with their cheap smart bulbs without a hub. I use the Ikea dimmer on a hue bulb. Connected directly via zigbee

Do you need a hub? I just want a physical switch for my yeelights, does anyone know if such a thing exists?

Original Xiaomi Smart Wireless Switch £4.94 @ Gearbest

Original Xiaomi Smart Wireless Switch for just £4.94 from Gearbest. Also have the other version slightly cheaper.

Does anyone happen to know does smartthings recognise the long press, and also what sort of things can one use the long press for?

I have one from a previous deal and just in process of setting up. I'm using smartthings gateway and MQTT to home assistant, but I can't seem to get this to show up correctly as a sensor. Anyone able to help? Got the motion sensor and door sensor working no problem, so something simple in my config file!

My preferred choice because of the long press option

Aqara Window Door Sensor £6.17 @ gearbest

Aqara Window Door Sensor for £6.17. Also have the either the first or second generation wireless switches cheap at the moment.

Seem to be out of stock. I was only looking for SmartThings sensors earlier today. This is my not happy face. Heated anyway - D

Out of Stock ?

Yep, the Xiaomi sensors are the cheap-as-chips ones to get, forget the Samsung ones, and read up on the old Xiaomi posts for tips. My Xiaomi hub gave up on me, got a ST, and need to sort out the mqtt bridge for HA. The switches, I have a couple, only seem to register as 1-click on ST, or I'm doing something wrong, so they lose their appeal a bit. But my thermometers, pirs, and door sensors are working well.

I just got into these things and got a smartthings hub, 3 of these and 2 motion sensors from a UK seller to get me started. Got mqtt bridge working and these showing up in home assistant. Now to devise some automations! On the fence regarding the switches, don't like the look of them, but need a solution as we have non-smart light fittings.

Heat. Just beat me to posting, I was checking what price I paid last year for this, £5.34, still the price to beat for me.

Received mine, great size. Supports fast charge

These are excellent. Bought another one for the office. Heat.

If you assume an overall efficiency of 70% (about right for a decent battery bank, I believe), you'd still only get about 26Wh of useful energy from a 10000mah 3.7v battery bank. That's 0.026KWh. If we assume a KWh costs about 15p, then you're saving about 0.4p per full charge of a 10000mah battery bank that you do at work with 'free' electricity. So it would take you about 3300 full charges to make back your £13 initial purchase price. In other words, you'd likely have killed the cells in the battery bank long before you made back your money from 'free' electricity. Hope that helps. :)

How long would this take to pay for itself if you charged it up at work in the week and used it to top up your phone at the weekend? (meaning you never have to charge using your own electricity at home)

plus 2. bought 4 more since then and can't fault them for just over a tenner

Might as well go for one of the cheapest plastic options. You know you're never going to use them anyway, no matter what they're made of.

Cheaper here (£0.99) but in steel even though says titanium, description say 410 steel further down. Good size and has knife too.

Something to watch when the next Royal Wedding is on...

Beat me to it lol

The russian reads: "At purchase Original Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32 inch ordered additional packing. I think that without her, the TV would have delivered the damaged one, since the transport companies handle orders negligently. The packaging, although not thick, added stiffness to the whole package." and "Packed this crap TV. What can I say - the Bronzer! :) " So its basically something to do with buying a tv off them and having additional packaging? Why would you need it?

Ordered one for the bedroom, thanks op.

The review titled '1' - is hilarious.

mcek Promo price for next few days. I think I paid £3.45 last year on a promo. Note, there is a newer version of this switch, on Banggood I think, that includes a gyro for an added 'shake' control.

Yes, cheaper and more functionality than a Fibaro, but more expensive and no more real functionality than an ST and a Pi (with HA/Domoticz/Mycroft/SNIPS). Although, a nice looking unit.

thank you so much... yes, seems that.. ...

haven't tested the range, but should work upto 6m iirc...

How much od a hill will it go up?

Well this has been out for how long now? they might be if they do it be more like 500£, but might push the original down to 280£ more often

When you say a new release, do you mean they are coming out with a new model?

Huwawieeewawie is coming here I believe.

Although you never know, from previous posts and online reviews, I haven't heard anybody been hit by import tax. If you live in a city and saves you commuting cost, makes a lot of sense. I'm in a rural area with a lot of uphills and not so good roads, not very useful here. I use a push bike occasionally, but becoming more and more lazy lately.

X2, 2 months of correspondence then an offer of half the value. PayPal chargeback in the end. Left a sour taste of the trustworthiness of gearbest. Standard operating procedure is to fob you off and hope you go away.

I've reinstalled these before unless they've changed it then the licence is a Chinese language licence so reinstalling wouldn't help you. You need to just change the language, I believe some one posted the guide earlier.

Yes I'm trying to think which order they came in. I think I got the letter just before or just after the laptop arrived with the bill.

I prefer internal storage. ~I might want to use the SIM2 slot for a sim card ~Good SD cards cost money anyway ~Bad SD cards can slow down the system or cause erratic performance ~The wrong type of SD card can die fast from repeated re-writes if used for things it doesn't like

don't think it's to do with the pound wholly, I've noticed the dollar price for the phone has gone up from around 85 dollars to close to 100 so it looks like xiaomi or retailers have put up the price. whether this is due to manufacturing costs increasing I don't know, but it's happened over the last 6 months

You do realise these have a microSD card slot . So i don't know why you think storage is an issue - you can use the microSD card as phone storage.

I've noticed the prices going up with these too. I suppose the state of the GBP has something to do with it, but also I think Xiaomi might be about to move away from their historically aggressive pricing as their brand matures and they enter the western markets and start to share in the big profits that come with our market structures. Over here the manufacturers of hardware blatantly throttle back the capabilities of hardware in order to keep the product obsolescence cycle going (Japanese consumers often get stuff several years before us, for example), and prices are reached on an oligopolistic model, where headline prices remain inflated and competition is restricted to the occasional promo deal. I think Xiaomi will be happy to take their slice of that pie rather than kill the golden goose (to mix my metaphores). In the case of Xiaomi phones the versions with 64gb storage seem to have almost disappeared from their low end models.

the rose version was £65 last week on offer. prices have gone up over the last yr or so, these used to be approx £60 six months ago

I can similarly recommend the v5 - great bit of kit if you're interested about these things but don't want to spend a huge amount. I'm a robovac convert after trying this one. Will probably spend a bit more next time around and get one of the ones with a mapping feature.

how do you get round the shipping cost, its £9 for me

I've got the v5. It's an excellent product, been using it for 2 years with no problems. The direction it goes in is quite random, apart from that it does a great job and also works as a mop!

These are cheap but are they any good ? Anyone have experience with them ?

It’s still on that price - email offer ( This is version 2 of xiaomi’s air purifier. Whether it’s worth it for you depends on your circumstances. Does it work? Yes, it will filter even cigarette smell and reduce VOCs and small particles from the room it’s in (as any fan with a HEPA filter will do). You don’t need to trust its own particle measurement - get a uHoo, a Foobot or an AirVisual Node if you need something more accurate than your nose.

I bought another 2 <3 . Big house...

I was looking at getting one over a year ago back when it was 200usd. I still wouldn’t get one at this price. It’s a fraud.

phikachu They quickly launched a new version after this. So why is this still on the market? Must be surplus and being sold off abroad where news of the scandal is less known.

Thanks. "From this data, my conclusion is that the fan and the filter are fine, but the Xiaomi air purifier has a programming flaw. " That's from Jan17 - some of the comments under the article suggest there are app settings to fix this. Guess I'll find out .... mine is due to arrive Monday.

340 degrees... scintillating.... not! Point and case.

The good thing about this site is that you (or indeed, me) don't get to decide what is and isn't a hot deal; that decision is crowdsourced. For you this may not be one, but in the grand scheme of things, you opinion counts for very little so, if you don’t mind, I’ll disregard your encouragement to “jog on”. You seem slightly confused about how the car industry (and other areas of commerce) operate. There are indeed specific safety and regulatory standards that all manufacturers must adhere to, but this has only a minimal influence on the range and quality of models available in the marketplace; hence, you can buy a Dacia or a Maserati that both comply with the applicable standards. The same applies to the "luminaries” (sic) industry where lighting and electrical regulations will apply. The question of whether a “Beamer” (sic) offers a better value proposition than a Focus depends on your definition of value (build quality? Longevity? Resale value? Style?). I would have thought this would be obvious to you since your solution to the problem of “how can I get a cheap LED light-strip?” is clearly based on different values to those voting the thread hot. I’m a bit worried that you seem to be obsessed with the IQ of anyone that disagrees with you; That seems an unhealthy obsession. Also, when did McDonalds start doing chicken mayos? I quite like the sound of them.

Thats a damn shame. I was interested

IM 'm pretty sure you can't link them up. I bought two and didnt see any indication you could join them. To be fair, it's the same with hue as you need a master and an extension, not two masters. I'm not aware of a yeelight extension kit.
