Unbelievable I paid that much nearly 2 years ago!

This GPU should be worth no more than £200 today!
Everyone is getting excited that prices have dropped back to the original points but have forgotten that these are now approaching a couple of years old and the 11 series are around the corner. Defo not worth over £250 now for a 1070 but this is what supply and demand does...not going to vote either way on this.../rant

they had no competition with the 900 series either but they still released …they had no competition with the 900 series either but they still released the 1000 series which were miles above.I cant see the 1270 being a tiny bit better than 1070 i can see a huge jump. They need to beat the 1080ti too nearly every gamer has a 1080ti so they need to make them upgrade little jumps wont do it.

"Nearly every gamer has a 1080ti". Fact check: Steam ownership survey shows that 1080Ti ownership lies at 1.17% of all steam users. So 98.83% of Steam users DO NOT have a 1080Ti.
None of these Video cards posted recently are deals, sure they're cheaper than they have been but price is coming down globally as we all know by now,

you would be a fool to buy a card now at the start of the price drop

Very good price!! Very tempted to buy, but somethings telling me to hold off until the new cards as I've waited this long already.
Very very tempted but not heard about this brand of card and never ordered from overclockers before.

What is the brand like and what is overclockers like as a company of stuff goes wrong?

Thanks
Super hot.
.....if it arrives.

kfa2 have been around for decades... they also produce the high end HoF (hall of fame) cards and Galax cards outside of europe. reviews are generally good for them. theyre no better or worse than any other brand but do tend to have more sensible pricing.
I have not used the brand personally (pretty sure KFA2 is Galax) but from memory they are usually scoring the highest benchmark scores.

Why are they the cheapest then? Reliability?

Clearly 1070s are worth £340, or they wouldn't be selling at that price. Whether or not you or I would buy one at that price is utterly irrelevant (I wouldn't, FWIW).

Does anyone really think that the new generation of cards won't be significantly more expensive for the equivalent model (x70 to x70, for example)?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the official launch price for the next gen x70 card is £400-450 with very limited stock for the first few months and even further inflated real world prices from retailers. People will love being able to buy ~1080Ti performance with a 150w TDP for ~£500.
2 year warranty most others have 3 so maybe worth the extra few £ for the extra year

As I said I have not used them myself so could not tell you about their reliability. In fact I have not even read the reviews for this card but I have seen benchmarks for other cards they make and they usually have high benchmark scores.
Still holding out , not yet been able to take advantage of stepping up to a 1440p 144hz screen as still using gtx 780, PS4 still keeping me busy until the prices drop further/ new cards get released

I picked up a 1080Ti for £600 and my BiL picked up a founders for £585.

New gen cards will come out at a decent price but then supply/demand/miners will have that RRP change....let’s hope that’s not the case..

The UK RRP for a 1070 is £379, I'd be confident in saying that the 1170/2070 will be at least £400.

As you say, supply and demand will soon push that £400+ to a price far higher; somewhere around £500 for a decent model, I reckon.

Graphics card prices at launch are more about aiming for different price points than their relative performance to the previous generation.

xx50 usually aiming at the sub £200 market
xx60 usually aiming at the £200-300 market
xx70 usually aiming at the £300-400 market
xx80 top launch product likely £500+ with two on one board versions up around £1000.

Barring any major movements in currency, I would expect the next gen xx70 cards to launch around the same point the current ones did, unless they want to cash in on crypto miners and take a bigger slice for themselves rather than let the retailers take all that profit.

Had a 970 that was this brand and it was amazing! Quiet as a mouse and kept super cool, around 50 at full load

This price shows the new cards are around the corner and obv gonna be a lot better for maybe a tiny bit more, even £100 should get you much more grunt, no point buying now.

I reckon maybe 10-15% quicker with 15-20% less power consumption per bracket (eg 1070 vs 1170/2070). It won't be twice as fast as people wish and I reckon it'll cost more too. Of it was an AMD slayer I'd expect some leaks by now.

I doubt it’s going to be that big, it has no need to be. If it is that big then they’ll undoubtedly jack up the price too. I could be wrong of course.

nVidia has no real competition at this level. Do you not remember what happen in the mid-late 2000s when AMD was basically churning out rubbish, hot and high-power consumption CPUs? Intel just kept tweaking with very low IPC gains and we ended up with many people still using Sandy Bridge today. AMD's Vega (while 'decent'), isn't as fast as everyone hoped (plus nearly impossible to purchase) so nVidia has no need to release something substantially quicker. If what would have been the 1170/2070 is vastly quicker, I'm pretty sure they'll market it as a 1180/2080 and we will never know. Look at the previous generations, the big jumps were when the industry required it (game complexity increases) and AMD was applying pressure (R9 and HD7xxx series) - now, many games are coded for consoles first with PCs as a secondary and AMD isn't applying that same pressure at the top-end.

Anyway like I said I may be wrong but by all means come back when they launch their new cards and tell me that.

I think you missing the point. He paid that price around £338 2 years ago, what he jake_mike is saying is true, this should be around the £200 mark, differently below £300 mark. If it wasn't for the bit-mining craze...prices are coming down but still high. 1070 should no way be around this price...hopefully it will come way down in the future especially since the next gen gpu are coming out.

I think your predictions are spot on except it is looking like the 1180 will only slightly beat the 1080Ti. The 10xx series was exception in the 1060 = 980, 1070 = 980Ti in terms of performance.
