"Was £219"...Yeah right...

But still the cheapest you will get equivalent memory for will be around the £90 mark.

Good branded memory at an excellent price. 1.5V so will suit i5 etc systems.

Expect this to sell out fast.

Thats an ace price i wanted some of this but overclockers sold out around 5months ago and it was just under a £100 for 4gb at this price thats 8gb for £130 just a bit more than i paid for 4gb of corsair, this ram suppose to be mad for overclocking and reaches speeds of 2000mhz.

Have some heat mate i expect this to go mental.

Most stuff seems to be 1.65v now. What's the difference?

this should be fine on intels icores its just voltage and if this can do 1600mhz at 1.5 then 2000mhz as got to be a possibility at 1.6-1.65v. all it is is the specs and thats what intel say the memory should be to run at suggested speeds.

So this should run (overclocked) on a decent AMD AM3 mobo? Tempted to buy 8gb for a new system build, been leaning towards AMD as it seems better value for money.

i wouldnt go for the AMD its old tech and is no where near intels power if you want a fast cheap build go for the i3 and the asus h55 board they clock to 4ghz in the asus boardwithout issue and the board is only around £65 or spend more and go for the i5 which i did went for the 750 and the P55 asus evo-e but wished i had gone for the i7 or waited and had the unlocked i5 750.

In benchmarks the 6core AMD gets beat by the stock i5 in most tests so what it would do to the AMD when running at 4ghz is god only knows. This ram from what i remember when i wanted some is its mental fast if you google the memory you will find massive threads about it.

Fascinating - passmark cpu scores

Intel Core i3 530 @ 2.93GHz 2,730 (£91.77)
AMD Phenom II X2 555 2,062 (£85.53)
The latter ostensibly almost always has 2 unlockable usable cores which puts it at the sort of level below
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3,935
which beats
Intel Core i7 Q 740 @ 1.73GHz 3,605

I guess that's comparing overclock with stock though

Recently built myself an AMD system having been using their chips since an Athlon XP 2800. Used an Asus M4A89GTDPro/USB 3 and an Phenom X2 555.

The cpu unlocked no problems using this boards unlock feature and I am just awaiting a better cooler before running the system as a Quad core, most likely also overclocked.

I would therefore tend to view the AMD kit as a better value option than Intel. Also Intel are corrupt gits.

I'm still using an Athlon XP 2800 oO
