Good price. Really for competition CX'ers I think.

Absolutely. Gruff Lewis was riding this for Madison Genesis over the last season. Wish I could get one tbh.

Ok, this has to go down as a deal due to the massive reduction, but buying a solo bike frame at this price, you have to be either professional or semi, surely?

At full price, either an enthusiast or a pro... or riding competitively as an amateur. At the reduced price, It brings it the price line of a decent aluminium frameset or a really good budget aluminium bike along the lines of the B'Twin Ultra AF which would appeal more to younger racers and sportive riders. These are certainly not for those who are either new to cycling or do it as an occasional pastime, so understand that people who might consider themselves normal as voting this down. However for those who are enthusiasts, who would love to afford to build a dream bike, if this post helps them find the frame, it's worth the negatives.

This is pretty expensive, I could buy a whole bike with wheels and maybe even disc brakes for this money!

It looks like its cheaper for one with wheels!? - £715

Not really, if you love cycling then the prices doesn't really matter,I see normal folk on £9.000 bikes, they're just enjoying life and I say good for them.

I would hope you only see them for a fraction of a second as they blast past on their 9k bikes...otherwise what's the point of spending quite that much.

People forget that a bike is the only machine bought by its engine. A superb frame but it will not make the rider any fitter or more able. It may shave seconds off their best time if that is really important, but f someone blasts past you its because hes fitter and trying harder. Arguably if you are cycling to get fit a heavy bike will give you more of a work out.i

I understand there's a pretty big price premium in general when stepping up from alu frames like that one to carbon ones of equivalent brand and quality. You're basically paying a whole bunch extra to save maybe a couple of kilograms or so in bike weight between the frame and all the other expensive lightweight components that would be added onto this.

Wheels included would clinch the deal for me......

I regularly see people in cars costing 6 figures they are still travelling at the same speed sat in the same traffic jams as the rest of us, no one crititisizes Ferarri owners for not being able to drive.

I don't criticise Ferrari owners - A fool and his money are soon parted! -- not to mention that we're in a consumer driven economy if everybody saved we would have a deflationary conundrum like Japan -- so they're benefiting society.

Yeah but a Ferrari can over take rather briskly whereas a 9k bike will move pretty much like 1k bike...unless of course the 9k bike has one of the stealth motors in the seat tube..

On the matter of the rider is the engine, I agree. I myself am a steel frame fan
I personally love how bikes look and feel, so if a bike makes you feel good when you're riding it, because of the psychological effects it has on you then you'll be more likely to ride it and that's what its all about. I could justify paying this price for this frame and would use it regularly and I'm sure if I get my configuration right it would also ride well- not just fast, as that's not the sole consideration, but the feel of the ride, How it allows you to interact with the road can vary from frame to frame, wheelset to wheelset, tyre to tyre. Honestly, it's its own little universe. Speed is such a small part of it all.

That's its aluminium framed cousin with the Sora Groupset. You can get the aluminium version of the vapour with Tiagra (much, much better) for £699.99 (reduced from 999.99) brand new not ex demo. The bike you should have googles is "genesis vapour carbon cx 30". Cheapest for that complete bike is actually £2211.

Let me rephrase your comment:
"Look at me, look at me, look at me!"

No wheels?

Let me rephrase your comment:"Look at me, look at me, look at me!"

It read more as, “I’ve got noting constructive to say in here. Instead I’ll make a poor attempt at being funny.”

XS only left, but very tempted for my son after his last bike didn't survive racing last weekend!

I think it's probably still a bit over my budget, but it would make a really good platform for a sound competition build up. Chuck on a set of chinesium carbon tubs and a spattering of drivetrain bits and you'll have an absolute top-line bike.
