does this freeze? a daughters friend has to stick to gluten free be handy to have some in the freezer

Hello. yes this bread does freeze. my son has coeliac diesease and has this

Great Deal! It's the best gluten free bread there is. Unfortunately it's normally very expensive. Pity you can't get this one on prescription. Freezes well, unlike the rest. H+R

Wow, small loaf for £2.48 each. I feel for the gluten-sensitive people.
If it was me, I'd clear my freezer and stock up. Hot.

About bloody time people with illnesses weren't charged the f*cking earth just to eat.

Should be this price all the time.

I have just picked up some of this bread on prescription for my wife, so I think its available now.

This is a fantastic deal. Tesco now have their own GF bread which is nicer but still very expensive so at this price I will stock up with genius! Also just to let everyone know that genius IS now available on pescription. Check out their website for the code :-)

Excellent price - voted hot but it is available on prescription now

cracking deal, my son has coeliac too.

awesome price.........will buy a bulk and make breadcrumbs, stuffing etc, freezes really well

By far the best gluten free bread ive come accross.

Is this sliced?

ButtsAkimbo

Is this sliced?

offer in ASDA is for non sliced

As everyone says the best gluton free bread there is. At a 100 calories a slice it's a special treat for me.

Excellent price! Thanks for the listing the deal, pinsb.

I buy this regularly (for myself), but not regularly enough because it initially retailed at £1.99 per sliced loaf & has slowly crept up to around £2.89 (unsliced) n some supermarkets. At one particular Asda in London recently I saw a selling price of £3.19 each!

As mentioned above, it does freeze & defrost well, & doesn't have to be toasted to ensure it doesn't break up before spreading anything on it (like most other gluten free bread does).

hi this bread is on prescription i get it for my little girl thats probably why asda are selling it cheap now, as more people get it on prescription

My partner is a celiac and you can now get a case of 6 on prescription. See the link below

geniusglutenfree.com/glu…on/

Thanks op, my aunts a coeliac and the one thing she misses is a decent sarnie!

That is one hell of a saving for anyone who is unfortunate not to be able to eat normal bread etc.

A saving of ......£5.47 !!!.........Heat added

Still £2.48 EACH in Eastleigh ASDA...........booooo!

Do you know why the ingredients in and the manufacturing process of gluten-free bread is more expensive?

Didn't come up in Hinckley store.

Anyone else actually get any at this price?

I now see it on the website but the multi-save says Hovis 3 for £2 so think they just ballsed it up online, which doesn't help as you pay store prices on delivery day for groceries.

What a rip off at nearly £3 per loaf. Wouldn't it be much cheaper to make your own bread using a different type of flour.

Voted hot.

Possibly but only recipes I've seen are rather convoluted and involve lots of additional ingredients to hold the mix together. Plus the flour is nearly £2 a bag for a fairly small bag

This bread is brilliant, coeliac uk said it could now be got on prescription, but unfortunately, my GP surgery does not prescribe to it, so i have to buy it, but it is superior to any others i have tried, so this deal from Asda is amazing for Coeliacs like myself!!! i will certainly be stocking up, ( if there is any left when i get there!! ) Jan

As no one has confirmed it I wouldn't bank on it.

Hot for me

JUst tried in Leeds and no deal

Has anybody other than pinsb found the bread at the price suggested?

If not, anybody care to second a vote to mark this thread as 'spam' due to an incorrect price available at a single store?

It's showing as 3 for £2.00 on Asda's own website.

How much is delivery from Asda's web site? Is it still £5? That adds to the cost of the item.

I was hoping to buy in-store as the Deal thread is marked as being in-store, but nobody seems to have found them for sale for this price.

Agree with fanpages. Should say only available on-line as would appear no one can get this in-store - or have they?

my wife, son & daughter are all coeliac and have ordered this bread on prescription, when it didn,t arrive they were told by the pharmacy that there had been a fire at the bakery and it would not be available for some time,[unless you want toast of course]as anyone else heard about this?

I bought two loaves in a branch of Sainsbury's supermarkets this afternoon. They had plenty on the shelves; although two I spotted were out of date by 7 days!
