Spotted this Apple 12w USB power supply adapter in Tesco priced up at £5, also there is the micro USB adapter also priced up at £5.

The Power adapter is currently on amazon for £14.13 there was quite a few left on the shelf.

Probably get cold votes as its apple product, but should help people who after such items.

Good for genuine Apple item but I got the lightening to micro from poundland and it works perfectly fine too

Really? How much did it cost?

A pound of course and they still have them. I've recently seen them in pound World too.

That's great and all but they typically don't last long and I've heard can cause problems to the iphone if something goes wrong with them (don't quote me on that)

I used to buy the ones from poundland, they lasted a month or so then they would stop charging which as as massive pain in the butt when thats how I charge at work via my PC. It has been a while since I gave up buying them from there - are they better now? Do they last a normal amount of time?

Will check tesco out in the morning. Hopefully Loughborough has some!

Which Tesco store please?

Amazon. £5. 2m

lol. lightning to micro usb adaptor is a joke. just proves the lightning cable is pointless and a feeble excuse for apple to massively overcharge

Them pound ones are rubbish had my share of fake chargers genuine all the way

As stated spotted in burnley extra, but they have been sighted at other stors across the country. Best chances are in extra and home stores that stock electrical products.

i agree fake adapters have caused me more issue than good for the sake of saving a few quid ive always bought genuine, due to previous experiances with fake chargers etc. Usual experience is the damage caused to the battery and charging ports on devices by cheap replicas.

Yeh just had a £1.50 eBay adaptor fail on me and had to buy a micro to lightning one and cost £15 which is a ripoff. Good find though for genuine item

Heated

Cold. I'd use more fuel driving around searching than ordering a genuine one from Apple.

Lightning port is a lot more durable than micro usb and is reversible. I'd take lightning port over micro usb any day of the week, wish my LG G2 had it. No one's forcing you to buy Apple accessories are they?

Had these in Hull St Stevens also had vga adaptor for £7.50

Usually a bit cheaper in there.

What do you use lightning to micro usb for?

I'd guess it's a usb to lightning adapter i.e. To convert micro usb cable to a lightning one.

I got a couple from poundland - one was a braided one and one was a regular white cable. I used them to charge an iPhone 5 and 5s. About 3 months later both phones would require charging at least 2-3 times a day. There came a point where the 5s needed 4 hours for a full charge. Luckily I still had warranty on the 5s and the Apple store replaced the phone for me but it was weird as the phone battery wasn't showing up as damaged when Apple did the diagnostic test but luckily the battery percentage dropped by 20% whilst the Apple were carrying out checks on the phone. The iPhone 5 I had swapped out via my bank insurance. I threw both cables away and replaced the with Made For IPhone (MFI) cables from Amazon.

Good price op.

The Belkin one @ £6.50 on Amazon seems a safe alternative. I have one as a spare and no problems

7dayshop have genuine lightning 1m For £7 delivered and the 30pin 1m for £4 delivered.
Be careful which you put in your basket as they also have similar priced ones but without delivery.

That's correct. I use these for my on-the-go chargers for iPhone/iPad. The official Apple cables are renowned for tearing and splitting with vigorous use, and they cost £15 a pop. I bought two of the Micro USB>Lightning adaptors, and just use £1.50 ANKER Micro USB cables to attach. That way if the cable breaks, it costs me pennies to replace it. The chances of this adaptor breaking, on the other hand (it is very solid) seem remote.

What do you mean more durable. It has zero purpose. so you'd rather pay 15.00 for cable than 1.00 wow. daftest comment of the year

I can charge my android phone with cables from logitech etc
