Thanx. Just what I need to go with the Duct tape

Thanks, be interesting to see if they are 100% leather as I've been struggling to find one that isn't bonded leather which I find doesn't last very long.
Went for the £5 one as the label reckons it is leather and the Ben Sherman one didn't mention it. Not amazing but willing to give it a try for a fiver! Also wasn't marked up as reduced but was when I took it to the till.

That's exactly what Genuine Leather is. Basically avoid anything that claims to be Genuine Leather.

Well I dunno what to say, anything labelled as Genuine Leather is quite literally the crap stuff they have left over. I mean, I guess like everything else there will be good and bad, relatively anyway, products depending on the initial spec, but it's stilt the cheapest of the cheap.
For a fiver its not even worth a moan

I tend to avoid reversible leather belts, because most that I've bought turned out to be bonded or split leather with a core made from bonded shredded leather fibres, which as you say typically don't last long.

It is usually easier to tell if a single sided one is made from a solid bit of leather as you can examine the back and raw edge.

I guess another option is to buy a leather belt blank and make your own belt.

Unfortunately the term "genuine leather" applies equally to both, so all really tells you is it is made from some sort of leather, unless you are buying from an ebay/amazon seller of course, where it means nothing.

It's an absolute minefield trying to find a full grain leather belt that is actually what it says! All the Ebay/Amazon ones I seem to find say it in the title then in the description it says bonded leather, it's very frustrating!

Like you said for a reversible belt it is like trying to track down a unicorn.

It’s clearly not a minefield if you take a punt on a 5quid belt. I repeat 5 quid.

I meant a minefield finding an actual non bonded leather belt which it sounds like this £5 one is. But as you said (and I agreed) for £5 it's worth a punt. I was just hoping to get one that will last.
