I'm a complete novice to equipment like this. I bought hotukdeals.com/dea…754 a week ago, but no battery.

Does this battery go with my lawnmower and is it all I need or do I need a charging pad? I bought the base unit thinking there would be clear info about batteries, but there's so much to choose from and I'm unsure what is right and what is a good price.
Yes this battery would work with your mower, you would be better to preferably have two of theses to run it as a 36v. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much! Do I just buy the batteries or is anything else required or charging unit?

Definitely go for two, or your lawnmower will be under powered. Also, large capacity batteries (like this) do provide higher currents when demanded.

Unless your mower comes with a cable to charge the batteries in the mower, you'll need something like this to charge them:

rover.ebay.com/rov…597

Slightly cheaper, and more expensive branded ones available (which will charge a 5AHr battery in 45 minutes), or even dual battery ones available. The one I link to takes 90mins.

You are looking for "LXT" and "18 volt"
