I don't think so... If you search for "GearBest" on HUKD, you'll see many deals already posted... they're quite reputable, incase you didn't know...

Actually, in hindsight, the product itself is made in China... so difficult to find a UK seller selling it... as they all have to ship it from China and then charge us twice as much
I have an 0803 and think the design is very good, although it isn't without it's niggles.
Suggest doing some research before committing.
UK dashcam specialist JooVuu recently stopped selling the Mini 0806 ... "We will NOT be selling these goods from now on. We have completely lost faith in the quality and reliability of these products".
I have been trying to find one of these at a decent price from a decent UK retailer. Amazon don't sell them directly either. Perhaps for the reasons above.
Can anyone explain if the brand makes a difference, it's all a bit confusing IMHO.

Don't waste your time on one of these !
Buy a 'genuine' G1W or for a few pounds more get the fabulous Möbius dashcam.
I own both types and can recommend either.
Both can be seen on YouTube's techmoans reviews.

I got the 0803 a couple of you had years ago directly from Amazon. Did my research before buying and it's been fine.

Techmoan rates this as the favourite dashcam...
Definitely worth a punt

He doesn't. The first 0806 he tried (pre-production model) was duff. He bought the second one. It was duff. He bought the third one. It actually worked. Should be enough warning to steer clear of it.

Techmoan uses a Koonlung K1S in his own car ... another dashcam with reliability issues. I like his reviews, however, they tell us nothing about long term reliability / trustworthiness.

Well, what he said was that if he hadn't installed the K1S dual camera system, he would use this. Also, that if his K1S ever died he will install this as this is very discreet...

Techmoan lurks at the DashCamTalk site & occasionally contributes. He's now read enough about the 0806 reliability issues reported there on a daily basis to avoid trusting one in his own car.
The problem with these are their are so many vendors doing their own version or cloning, i got one several months ago and it runs perfectly, I also have an 0803 which has been more troublesome I have had to replace the battery and add extra vent holes to that.

Well, usually he'll update the review on youtube or his blog to say do not buy this, etc... Any source for your comment?

I was wondering the same
Looks like a pretty good deal. I have had the excellent blackvue 500 in my old and new cars for the past 4 years ish, been faultless. I also have a a winycam 300 in my new car which is pretty good but build quality is nowhere near that of the blackvue but a lot cheaper.

For the old car, I tried a cheap camera from amazon but it was junk - like this one amazon.co.uk/Sup…era

Will put this new one in the old car
Hello Mat from Techmoan here. My K1S cams are still working in both my cars, but since I've kept the Mini 0806 mount in the Smart Roadster then I may swap the K1S for the 0806 as I need to move the front K1S cam to a better position and the rear camera's wire just won't stick to the tailgate and keeps falling down and looking a mess. The 0806 is still my favourite mini car camera with a screen. If you want a camera that you can trust to last for a few years then expect to pay a premium for a DOD or a Vicovation camera. If you want a mini camera then the choices are between either a Mobius with a supercapacitor (if you can live without a screen and are ok with messing about with electronics) or the 0806. ...and no I can't give any promises that anything I review is going to work in a year....same as Topgear never promised this when they tested £100k supercars.

Thank you Mat! And, may I say on everyone's behalf: eternally grateful for the reviews you post, they help us noobs a lot! Keep up the good work!
Ditto, I really love your reviews, thanks for update.
Has anyone received theirs yet?

I am so sorry to hear that... If I was you, I would check my junk mails first for any correspondence from them and then log in to my account and send them a message that I haven't received the item/news about the item... Hope that helps
i chased them a couple of times, the first response was a generic 'it has been packaged and will be sent soon'.

not great as there was no movement despite the fact that i had paid two weeks ago.

a couple of days after the second chaser i received an automated email advising of despatch.
Just checked my junk mail as suggested. Last email I received from them on 15th Oct stated: "We are delighted to inform you that we have received your payment for order and will process your order immediately." Lol.

Perhaps they will move after a chase email or two

I think you ordered from their China warehouse... and it does say that it can take 1-2 weeks (top of my head) to process (which means pack n post) the order than a further 7-25 days to deliver...

I think that explains the delay then. Although, I did wait for EU warehouse availability so as to order without fear of customs and VAT charges, I think there must not be any there and GearBest are just going to follow the China order process like you say.

Probably... but I am very hopeful that you'll get it during the next week *fingers crossed*
I emailed them a couple of times, now has been dispatched...apparently
Package received package received. Repeat: package received, over. Was sent from the eu warehouse when stock came back in. Then received within 3 days from that point. Because of that there were no additional VAT or administration charges at customs too - which is always a risk when you order selecting their china warehouse.
