It looks like it's free delivery too. Nice.

Is it just me or do others always think "FAKE FAKE FAKE" whenever the word "Genuine" is in a description....?

I dont know about "top rated seller" but they have a fair few negative reviews in their feedback. Unfortunately they seem to mark every sale as private so you cant tell which items are getting the bad reviews, but yes I agree that it will certainly be a knock off rather than a "genuine" sky remote. I paid a similar price at 7dayshop for a "genuine" remote and it was rubbish.

Same. Maybe should have done some reading before purchasing

Bought one of these from a seller with brilliant feedback a couple of months ago.. turned out to be a fake. Got my money back

The item description says it's "fully compatible" so it definitely isn't a genuine Sky product.

added to watchlist.

will await to here feedback from comrades on here

The problem I've found with these Sky remotes (even Genuine Sky ones) is that they randomly/suddenly just die. It's happened a few times now with a couple of remotes we got with the sky boxes themselves.
Anyone know why this could happen?

Seen lots of sellers with high feedback selling fake items like ipod headphones as genuine, sad thing is feedback is high because of other items or people not knowing the difference.

I've just seen one of these in Tesco Newton Aycliffe for £3 but probably a one off.

Usually if you take it apart and clean the rubber contacts it will be fine again.

Fakes

If you dispute a fake product with Paypal, they require you to get a signed, headed letter from the manufacturer or a professional confirming they are fake. Unless you bought a fake Rolex, this is probably way too much hassle. My advice would be to buy the cheapest one, expect a fake and hope its close enough to the original.

No doubt it's 100% fake.

I bought one of these from 7dayshop and it was as fake as a 9 pound note.

thanks

Definitely fake.

I wonder how they would stand if you took them to court considering anyone with any common sense can tell some fakes?
I reckon they would refund you instead of taking a chance with the negative publicity and the risk trading standards or the manufacturers themselves might use it to build a case against them.

Manufacturers can't be too pleased with all the fake stuff being sold via eBay and them doing very little to curb it.

Banging deal. Thanks buddy

been waiting for a replacement , this would do perfectly

If none of the buttons work try removing the batteries and holding down one of its buttons for several seconds to drain the remote's caps so it loses its memory, then put the batteries back. It's worked once or twice for me (You'll need to reprogram the TV code if it starts working).

If some of the buttons stop working (usually the most used) take it apart and clean the button contacts on the PCB and the rubber pads, preferably with isopropyl alcohol but don't rub the rubber pads too much as the carbon coating comes off far too easily on Sky remotes.

There's just one screw in the battery compartment in a HD remote. here's the insides of mine.

Can't be any worse than my genuine rev9 that's been mangled by years of abuse by my kids. Ordered.

If some of your button stop working you just need to reprogrammed the control. Very easy just google reprogram sky remote takes about secs.

I have a brand new revision 9 Sky+ HD remote I just bought as my old one broke after 4 years. I do not like it as when you press a button, the red light flashes very quickly and inputs two key presses in quick succession.

If anyone would like to swap an old remote for my brand new one please message me!

strange.. if most think it is fake why 448c??oO

Will this work for me ?? I have a rev.8r

Definitely a fake

Quite a few commenters don't seem to be bothered about buying fakes, in that case they could have bought this one for 99p delivered - even the seller admits they're fake:

The problem I have found with these items is you need to contact SKY to recieve a code to tune the
remote to Sky box. Bill W

The equivalent Sky HD remote from this seller comes up at £6.99.

My bad - the seller made it seem like 99p by making it a multilisting with batteries. Thanks.

thanks @melted that worked in making my remote function again. cheers

Why not just use the android/iphone app for free

Well I think it's very hot! In Asda these are £25.

Yes, but in Asda they are probably genuine.

Also, good luck if you try to take one apart to clean the contacts. It might be one screw, but they are an absolute nightmare to prise apart.
