Having a knife outside those trips is allowed provided the blade is 3 inch or less, and has to be non locking.
This has a plain knife and a serrate knife which can handle all cutting tasks between them, the usual pliers, and some different screwdrivers (small flat, medium flat, and 2D Phillips). That covers almost everything I'd want, with only scissors and a 3D Phillips being missing, so for me it's a great keychain tool. This multitool also has useless bottle opener and a pointless nail file if you care about that.
The Gerber Vises that I got both came with a perfectly sharp, usable blade right out of the box. Much better than the edge I got with other similar multitools like the True Utitlity Seven or the Rolson Mini.
If you're after something a bit larger and more substantial, then I'd suggest checking out the NexTool Black Knight, available in both non-locking (for EDC) and locking (for home use) versions. That thing's a lot larger and more heavy-duty, and uniquely folds open two ways instead of just one way, giving you not only real pliers but also real scissors. (edited)
